I'm a girl in choir in high school, and in March, we're having solo auditions for our choir show in May. With only four weeks to prepare, I haven't even found a jazz song yet to audition with. What are some popular or good jazz songs anyone know? The song doesn't necessarily have to be an "old" song, just something with a jazzy feel to it. Thank you people!

i'd go with either something by Cole Porter, or Gershwin. Whenever I auditioned for anything I would always pick something by those artists.

Some of my favorite jazz standards are:

Gee Baby Ain't I Good To You
How High the Moon
Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby
Nice Work if You Can Get It

Maybe these will be good for your vocal range and style, maybe they won't. But I wish you the best of luck!

Show your talent and your range by singing "Whatever Lola Wants" from the musical Damn Yankees. It's jazzy and sultry and I assure you, nobody else will be doing the same song which will impress them even more.

Here's one: "The Fever" by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

If done right, this could score you a part, as well as credibility as a singer who is keen on original interpretation.

Find the song and make it happen!
Break a leg.
