I have been playing piano for over ten years, so I can read music very well and have a good grounding in theory. Although the piano makes beautiful music, I never really enjoyed it. You cannot bond with a piano, it's this big wooden thing! You can't carry it around and you have to play on other people's instruments. I also have small hands and fingers so I sometimes have to leave top or bottom notes out because I can't reach them. Consequently my hands ache afterwards. My mother also plays so that's why I'm playing too.

I want to take up a second instrument. I have the theory, so I'm not a raw beginner. Which instrument do you think is a good one to take up? I am petite myself, small hands and therefore something 'small' and fun too.

My options are: violin/viola, cello (not really "small" but I love the sound), clarinet, flute....what else? Preferably someone with knowledge of the instrument should answer, all welcome though.

I am searching for a few publishers to send my work to. However, I have absolutely no idea where to start and thought that you guys may have a much better idea than me.

I am a teenager myself and the work I have completed is aimed at young adults.

If anyone has any information as to which publishers would be most appropriate for this or even any general advice from authors amongst you, I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks so much!

Apart from Literature being an experssion of one's thought, aspirations and emotions, what significance does literature hold?

In contrast to Literature, why should one read a book that he/she may not be interested in?

Of course there is scientific meanings for everything, but lets take a look at colors and our everyday life. Let's take for example the color of the sun, in most cases when we were childeren and we drew pictures of the sun we would grab a yellow crayon. If we were to draw the sky we would use a blue colored crayon, and if we were to draw grass we would get a green colored crayon. Now let's take a example of what happens when you mix colors together. If you mix black with white, you will get a gray color, red with white, pink color, yellow with brown, a green color, etc etc.
Isn't it rather interesting to think, that seeing how the yellow sun, shines through the blue sky, that we oddly have green grass, Yellow sun shines through green grass to make brown dirt?

I was flipping through my complete works of Shakespeare book and saw that The Tempest was labeled a romance. I read the play and although it seems to have similar characteristics to a comedy (a love story with a planned marraige in act 5) it seems somehow different. I can't quite put my finger on it though, any information would be greatly appreciated.

This would not be at an official book signing. Would it be rude to approach an author, (say, at a public event), with a copy of his book, and ask for a signing? Bearing in mind that a signed book is worth more money, although that's not why I wanted to have it signed. Even if I approach and ask the author courteously, am I putting him in an awkward spot? Any published authors here can tell me? Thanks in advance.

Can someone help me?

I need to find a poet who's work is a reflection of their national and cultural heritage. And show how it's a reflection of this. But I don't know anything about poetry. So if you know a poet who's work was greatly influenced by their historical and cultural background, please tell me.

Thank you so much.
