A relatively old bit of music I've never seen danced is Dave Brubeck's "Take Five," a wonderful thing in 5/4 time that doesn't lend itself well to other dance forms. Many pieces in 5/4 have the feel of a 3/4 bar followed by a 2/4 bar, or vice versa, but not this one, and it's a really nice tune, too.

Stephanie's Id. you can check them out on iTunes or myspace by searching Stephanie's Id or go on their website: www.stephaniesid.com.

There is one song in particular that would work well by them on their cd called: 'This EP is money' and the song is called 'QE2' if you're an intense, dramatic sort of dancer you would like it. If you like much softer styles I would try this other song by them on their cd called: 'Spiral In' and the song is called 'lazy use of my mind'. I think their awesome.

Try Stravinski's "The Rite of Spring." This is one of the most unusual ballets I've seen, and it is often shown on PBS.

I like the music from the Blue Man Group. They make their own instruments and use them in their music. Here is the link:

Kinda odd, kinda different, kinda cool! I've used it for funky jazz routines and tap!

Check out Phillip Glass, he's pretty unusual. And check movie soundtracks, those work pretty well too.
