Why did they machine gun the life boats?

Isn’t that a war crime?

The attack on USS Liberty was no mistake. USS Liberty was attacked by Israeli Aircraft and PT Boats even though it was flying large American Ensigns, the Israelis had been informed as to the location of the Liberty and she was in International Waters.
It is thought that the attack was carried out to cover up Israeli operations in the Sinai that the Israelis considered top secret. The ship was so badly damaged that she was never to go to sea again after the crew repaired the damage and brought her home. The Government if Israel has apologized for the attack but never paid more that token reparations for the attack and loss of life.

The Israeli government destroyed the lifeboats the life rafts all while trying to sink this ship because this would insure that no survivors would be able to float until help arrived . They would have had to try to swim to the shore and into Israeli custudy. If the Captain of the Liberty hadn't been able to get off an SOS the ship probably would have been sunk and most if not all of the crew would have been lost lost.

The Israelis, even though it develop right into a delightful fireplace attack, interior the midst of a conflict the position the Israelis were less than attack from many instructions. Later they apologized for it. pleasant fireplace occurs, conflict is confusion. Edit: i'm no longer American, and that i'm no longer an fool. you try to make some dumb political or non secular element, yet you fail, it develop into only a tragic mistake for the time of conflict. Edit2: You pay interest to too many conspiracy theories. worry-free experience tells us that the U. S. is the in common words actual best chum of Israel and they could be very very stupid to piss the U. S. off, in a project like the 6 day conflict... it develop into an coincidence...

Absolutely, it was intentional, one day soon the Israelis will learn not to bite the hand that feeds. It is not surprising that this was not considered a war crime by the UN, considering that Israel seems to be above international law. I wonder why? Interesting video in my source link below.
