Hey everyone, this is going to be a very hard question to describe, but I'll try, (and please don't tak me as arrogant):
I know that all the poeple in the philosphy section of Y!A are very deep, and serious, i always get great answers whenever I have questions, so i thought i'd ask...
I was once talking to one of my best friends [a girl] and we started to get all deep, and philosophical, and talking about serious things...or at least attempting to.Yet, when she was talking to me, I could tell that she was being very serious about it all, but it seemed so...well, 'shallow'. I mean, you can never tell if it was just because she has trouble communicating her thoughts, even though they might be profound in meaning.

So my question: do you think humans, in general, at one point of their lives, think deeply and philosophically? For instance, I always wonder if lets say, Jessica Simpson has ever had a deep thought in her life..or are some people just-plain, incapable of thinking that way?

One of the children of Alvin and Laura listed above was George Washington Long b. 1956 more info From all the records I have Frank Long was born on Sept.14,1876 in Allegheny County , Pa. His father was Frank Long and his mother was Annie.
I have a copy of the 1920 census taken in Bristol on Jan. 16th. and it lists Frank and Mama being married with him 43 and mama 21. No children are listed so I am assuming that Ben and John were dead and Ed was just a few days from being born.
I believe that the marriage license is the only document that lists him as Alvin Frank Long. Everything else just says Frank.
(George Washington Long – he now lives in Crossville , Tennessee . He’s 80, he was born in 1926 and was a Christian Church minister for 55 years) Any help you could give me in finding anything out would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for a bashing-less, completely un-biased answer. Personally, I like Julia Murney best, Shoshana Bean in second.

Stephenie Meyer's books are the BEST books ever and it sounds like she SO knows what young adults want to read. Have you been to her website? She talks like EXACTLY like us! Wow. But I don't know how to contact her and I have SO many questions! BTW, I don't want to hear about MySpace!

Thanx!

P.S. I'm also taking a survey:

Which people should play the characters?
Bella:
a. Emily Browning (she really should...honestly!)
b. Danielle Panabaker (hate her...but I know that a lot of people think that she should do it...boo!)
c. Other

Edward:
a. Henry Cavill (there really is no other choice! Check out this site to see the chemistry! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZuFGqa9hho)
b. Other (if that's possible! Correction: it's NOT possible! But you can put this if you want to...)

I've begun writing a novel about a young woman and a young man who are to have a relationship through the correspondence of letters- letters by mail that is, NOT email. They are from different countries, so my question is, how should the letter writing begin? Not the content of the letters, I have that figured out, but how should the whole thing begin without them actually coming face to face before the letter writing starts? I have no idea how to do this..any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you. :)

I have a lot of music from around the world, and different time periods, which brought me to notice that folk music from the meditteranean, central europe, and eastern europe have changed alot, (most likely evolving during the 1700's) but the british isles folk music still sounds the same as the music from the middle ages that the rest of europe used.

As far as I know, there were anti-communist guerilla groups in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia well into the 1970s (beginning in WW2).
Ultimately to no avail.
Any other examples of this?

the plot seems a bit too boring and common.
so i would love it if someone gave me an idea that could sort of twist the plot around a little...

1. a girl's father dies (does not have to be the father)
2. girl grieves over father's death, up till the point her life seems empty
3. a guy at school whod had a crush on her sends an anonymous letter to her, worried.
4. the girl and the boy start a trusty correspondance, and little by little, the boy helps the girl out of her shell and out into the real world.

i thought the base of the plot was good enough but the other stuff was just sort of too sappy and expected.
so if i could get some sort of twist in this... (i was thinking maybe she thought he was a stalker at first, or maybe they start this 'daring' game and they dare each other to do stuff [even though they cant really see if the other person is doing it], like the boy might dare the girl to talk back to someone, until one dare goes horribly wrong.....)

I'm thinking about signing up for The Literary Guild and I wondered if you really save money or is it a ripoff?

Don't you think that with a little more persuasion, they could have gotten the Spanish and the Turkish to join? After all, the Spanish technically owed them something.

For the Germans, the payoff would have been monumental (Gibraltar).
