Mirror shows my reflection
but that is not me
it is someone else
someone I don't know of
who is handsome
showing happiness
smiles feigning victory,
bravery and courage
Basking in his glory
with no fear nor failure
He influences all and
charms all he sees
but that is not me
I throw mud at the mirror
I shatter it to pieces
and drop it to the
ground and see,
that is me.

The average Ancient Roman (circa B.C., give or take several millenium) woman's life expectancy was only 30 years, 40 max.

I understand their life was physically much harder than ours, they didn't have vaccinations and HMO's, and they (except the royalty) had to work their arses off every day (no washing machines, of course), and they enjoyed all sorts of sexual/reproductive diseases/injuries/sicknesses and produced one baby per year from their 12th birthday to the day they died....if a woman was healthy, free of sickness/injury, why the short life span?

And why do we live so long now in comparison (besides the obvious, like better nutrition and prenatal care)?

When you say, ' Great men think alike', some smart aleck is bound to reply, 'fools seldom disagree'. But he too agrees with that so he too must be a fool.

A mobile phone company sent me a bill of a contract phone without discussing that contract with me or even discussing the price plan with me and wreorst of all not even sendind me a phone.I refused to pay the bill after contacting them. They explained they ASSUMED i will like it because they had contacted me on phone to discuss the contract and unfortunately i was busy and promised to contact them and i did not.I think that it is the customer who should decide on a price plan or whether he/she wants the contract. My problem is that i have been taken to a debt collector and i was threatened by them to idea pay it or have a bad credit history.I paid immediately and yet still they went ahead and took the decision to give me a bad credit rating. What should i do?

keeping in mind that probably only humans were programmed (by a hypothetical creator) to percieve the smell of decomposition as repulsive , while to a lot of other creatures the smell of a rotting body is attractive and means survival .
