I know this has been asked before. I hate the phrase "everything happens for a reason". If fate exists, than you could make every decision with the flip of a coin. If "fate" is really in control, and you did what the coin said, than every decision you make would be the right one. I'm going to ask a similar question under religion, and see what the "faithful" say.

I started to write a story about a friend of mine, of our future, of what we're going to do. I was so confident when i started it. But now she's down and out that i feel finishing the story is no good. She is my inspiration when i started it, i did it for her to make her happy. Should i still finish the book even if she's not as interested in it anymore?

I've always thought that nationality is what country you are a part of and heritage is where you came from. (Like I'm an American but my ancestors were European.) But everytime someone asks me my nationality and I say American, they actually wanted to know my heritage. I'm just curious to know if there really is a difference.

When outlining a novel, does the process where you list events or characters, etc..on numerous index cards really help? I've had it suggested to me before, but I've never tried it....I know what works for one person may not work for another and you have to find out what works for you, but I just wanted to know your opinions on this. THanks!
