I am an unpublished writer. I have finished my first novel and am working on my second. The problem is, I've found certain similarities between my story and a series I've just discovered by Tamora Pierce, the Wild Mage series (I'm not sure if that's the exact name). My character can understand animals' needs, and they can understand her words though she has to speak aloud (and can't change into an animal or communicate with them silently). Also, my character's name is Veranene, and Pierce's character is Veralidaine (my character's nickname is Vera, Pierce's is Daine). My character even has a pendant (which she later learns is a dragon egg), like Daine has a badger's claw, and when my character's dragon egg hatches, she looks after it, so both Daine and Vera have dragon charges. Are these too much, should I change all of the similarities? I want to be published but I don't want to be accused of plagerism. Or since having animal-related powers isn't a new thing, is it okay to keep? Help!

I search you in every child I see;
I had made you a part of me.

you would have been 5 today;
you woud be doing things your way.

You didn't even live to 3;
your demise,I couldnt see.

I expected you live a decade;
but now your memories will never fade.

Heaven is where you dwell;
I wish I could say Farewell.

I am tired of being so brave;
I've always accepted what fate gave.

I want to be weak, cry and complain;
But no one understands my pain.

In my arms for once I want to hold you;
Dear child my love for you is so true.

your comment?

If all Yahoo! Answerers were trapped in a room, will the rude ones, polite ones, funny ones, stupid ones and the serious ones continue to be that way with each other?

He became king at the age of 12 and died atthe age of 18
without any ailments, he died mysteriously.
Some believe that he had given a deadly curse.
But later it was found that the person who died and their deaths were related with this mummy was due to a fungus.
