Arts & Humanities - 21 June 2006

During my recent visits to Canada and the US I could find so much striking similarities between the 2 countries...for example the slogans of police depts in both the countries being - To server & protect, similar people (Canadians being more docile), similar accents (atleast in Ontaria, Canada), similar laws (atleast the day-to-day ones), similar infrastructures etc etc.

Why is it that both these countries are so similar?

me and my poems again?

what goes around comes around

the sadness you left behind
didnt make me cry...
made me a new person altogether...
made me strong.
the pain and anger i feel....
is expressed differently
i laugh at you and your mistakes....
i smile to think that u are suffering...
and the fact that you have cried.
im curious to know what hardships you may face...
from that decision you made.
i long to know how this game will end....
the game you have started....
and i know who the loser will be.
who plays with fire is sure to burn himself...
who plays with emotions get the free ticket to hell....
and play with more fire there, to his hearts content.
life will be harsh for you i know...
yet i feel no sympathy....
as you do not deserve it either.
i know nature is strange.....
it punishes those who deserve it...
at the due time and place.
i feel much stronger today, having been hurt
as i know whose downfall the future will bring...
who the nature will mark the loser.

How do I gain patience as i'm too rude towards my children?

As i love my children too much. But while making them study i lose my patience in explaining things to them which leads to anger and i hit them. I do so and then i repent.please help me in controlling my temper.

Does writing have to be perfect?

i am a writer (mostly poetry) and i am majoring in English, but i don't care for structure, technical writing, and certain punctuation. i write it down the way it falls out of my head. if i tried to get published, would i get shunned for this?

Who's better, a "small" guy with social problems or a guy looking for sex?

I notice most women seem to go for guys who are only interested in sex. I constantly hear the guys saying, "What's the point of haveing a girlfriend if you aren't getting any?" This is discouraging to hear them say such things.

So, who would you rather date:
A "small" guy who doesn't care about sex and has little to no real social life but actually tries
....or....
A guy who's only real interest is sex, though he sure can make you laugh and has a ton of friends but doesn't really give a **** what happens to you in the end.

I've seen women go for both types, but they seem to be ore attracted to, and go for, the second type. Anyone care to weigh in on this?
