Can I do it with a regular camera and bring it somewhere or do I have to go digital and buy a computer program. Thanks.

You can do anything with a regular camera, it's all in the processing and developing where the effects will come in.

The easiest way is going to be with a digital image.

1. Open the image in Photoshop
2. Convert the image to Black & White
2a. Desaturation will work for this
3. Adjust the Contrast up about halfway
4. Create a new layer
5. Fill it with a neutral grey
6. Set the layer type to Difference
7. Drop the layer opacity to like 50%

That should get you quite close.

Download Azeurus a bittorent program from downloads.com and then go to torrentspy.com and download the torrent file for photoshop 7.0. Then open up Azeurus and and open the torrent file and complete the downloading process. Once the download is complete install the program and upload and import the picture and use the many filters and effects to get the desired pic u want. Very simple and cost effective-- its entirely free. LOL

1. Find a huge, heart-shaped bed, and cover it with red silk sheets.
2. Get 'er naked.
3. Somehow find a way to hang from the ceiling, above her.
4. Take the pic.
5. (this part's the real answer, I guess) Get the image to Photoshop, make it greyscale, then select (using the lasso tool) the parts that you want to make color.
6. (I know, #5 was more like 3 steps) Decrease opacity of the paint bucket tool, select the color you want, and click. You'll probably end up using the 'undo' function a lot, but it's fairly easy once you get the hang of it.

You will need to modify the picture using software.

The good news is that you don't have to spring for Photoshop or Flash, you can download a very similar program called "The Gimp" for free. I am a website designer and graphic designer and I use the Gimp all the time. Here's a link to where you can download it- http://www.gimp.org/

A good photo editing software is GIMP. It's like photoshop but... it's free! Get it here http://bitly.com/1zbn1kc
It's a very good program and easy to use.

Download a free version of GIMP on this site: [link]

GIMP is a great free software you can use for a lot of graphic tasks like retouching photo, image and photo editing). I strongly believe GIMP is the best free tool for photo editing available online nowadays. It's as good and as powerful as photoshop but GIMP can be use also used by a lot of professionals.

If you use the above photoshop solution, you will be able to get the effect closer by increasing the contrast, but I'm not sure how to get the sharp edges, I think this may need to be done in flash.

If you just want one still, then you could go over the lines manually. Slow and painstaking.

Your going to have to do more than digital. That requires software homie! And the money to pay for it as well as the time to do the manipulations to the photo...

Or you could pay someone do work on the actually photo for you. It might be cheaper. Just take the shot and give it to someone who knows what he or she is doing.

It would be pretty hard to do selective desaturation without some type of photo editing software. If you have a Kinkos somewhere close by you can pay to use one of their Macs and use photoshop. It's pretty easy.
