A person is making homemade ice cream. She exerts a force of magnitude 20 N on the free end of the crank handle, and this end moves in a circular path of radius 0.32 m. The force is always applied parallel to the motion of the handle. If the handle is turned once every 1.8 s, what is the average power being expended?

I have a 20amp circuit the provides power to my washing machine and the wall outlets in the adjacent room. I would like to add a light switch and light fixture. I'm planning on using 12/2 cables but the light switch and the light fixture will be rated at 15Amp. Would this cause a problem? Is it safe? Note that the existing wall outlets are all rated at 15Amp. The cable is 12/2.

Thanks.

My boyfriend bought my Christmas gift but hasn't wrapped it yet. I know where it's at because there's limited space in our apartment and since I'm cleaning today he had to tell me where he hid it so I didn't go through things to clean and accidentally find it. He told me to stay out of his side of the closet.
Well, of course, NOW my curiosity is absolutely freaking KILLING me! I want to look SO VERY BAD but I know it would upset him if he ever found out I did...but I'm DYING to know, now that I know where it is! Help me stay out of his part of the closet!

I recently began working for Walmart as an overnight stocker. A co-worker told me that you get paid a dollar more for working on Sunday. I was wondering if anyone could verify this? Also, as overnight I am off on "Sunday". However, I worl Saturday night 10pm to 7am. When the clock rollovers at midnight does that qualify as working on Sunday? If the above is true would I be payed that extra dollar?

My 20 month old daughter LOVES music... not the typical Barney-esque type music that most toddlers love, but complex adult music, like classical, polka, jazz and alternative. She couldn't honestly care less about "kiddie" music... she actually ignores it, but if a classical tune she likes comes on, she will stop whatever she is doing to listen.

She "sings" along with songs - no words naturally yet, but she "la-la-la"s in time and in tune. Happy, upbeat music makes her dance and the slow sad sounding ones make her little lip tremble and she'll start to cry w/ real tears. We have to be really careful with slow Christmas carols, because most of them tear her up.

Does this mean that she might be musically inclined? My husband played the viola all through middle and high school, and I played the piano some when I was younger. Both of us really love music.

Do any of you out there have children that are really sensitive to music, and as they got older, what did it evolve into?

I was driving his car because he was drunk. I was trying to make a right turn onto a street which he though would lead us the wrong way. He suddenly jerked the stearing wheel away from me very hard. I lost control of the car and ran up on a curb and hit a fence. There seems to be signifigant damage. This is not the first time he's done this. I have managed to avoid accidents in the past he would have caused. He did this to his cousin a month ago. He caused his cousin to crash into a curb and blow out his(my friends) tire. He was distracting his cousin as while he was driving as well..

In an experiment we did in a lab class, we put the enzyme Beta Galactosidase (b-gal) in a test tube with ONPG, a lactose-mimicking chemical. We put the tube in a Spec 20 to measure the absorbance. As the ONPG was broken down by b-gal, the solution in the tube turned yellow.
We tested this at several different temperatures and measured the absorbance at 15 seconds. At low temperatures, the absorbance was very low. Warmer temperatures showed a higher absorbance. However, temperatures that were "too high" showed a lower absorbance.
My question is, what does absorbance even mean? Why do we see this trend in the enzyme data?

to respect that?............ OK so I've been asking questions about Christiantity because I wanted to know if it was just me or everybody else thought the same way as I do. I’ve been Christian my whole life, but right now I’m really confused about what I’m envolved with... I go to this big church but I have realized what all Christians do is just look down on other religions and think that everyone is bad and they need to be converted etc … they can be selfish, liers, and if you dont do things or if you dont think the same way they do.. you are a bad person.. and I hate that.. I hate how they judge and push people to believe in what they believe…
I do believe in God I do pray.. but I dont think Being called “Christian” will save me… I do think Christians should not jugde other religions but be opned minded and acknowledge that the same way we believe they are all wrong, they believe we are wrong so it is all about faith and not judgement.

My son will be 3 at the end of January. He is fully potty trained at home, but only when he is naked, as soon as he puts underwear on he starts peeing his pants again. I am at my wits end. We regressed yesterday back to diapers because he was getting discouraged and threw a huge fit when I tried to take his diaper off so he could use the potty in the morning. We've tried, rewards for going in the potty, along with a star chart and lots of praise!

Anyone with a special trick that got their child into underwear and not to use them like diapers.

I've heard the claim that atheists must believe our lives are meaningless because eventually, no one will exist and nothing we did will matter. Even if this were true, why should that matter to us now?

I know Sir Winston Churchill (or was it Oscar Wilde? Or both?) described Britain and the USA as being "divided by a common language"....but could they ever be thought of as two different languages? A friend of mine told me at Thanksgiving that most of his work colleagues spoke 2 languages, and his 2 languages were English and American....and I just wondered what people thought about this!
