To the best of my knowledge, Canada and the USA share extradition treaties with each other. Canada will not extradite if the perpetrator could be charged with capital murder and I don't think the treaty extends down to misdemeanors.

However, the person committing the crime is generally charged in the jurisdiction of the courts for the area where that crime was committed. If that means extradition, that is what will happen.

This would depend on the crime.

If the person committed a crime in Canada and fled to the U.S.A., the U.S.A. would allow Canada to extradite him if the Canadian crime was also a crime in the U.S.A. (Most Canadian crimes are also U.S.A. crimes). He would not be charged in the U.S.A., but only detained until Canada came and got him.

And generally people are not extradited for misdemeanour crimes.

But if the person ever returned to Canada in either case he would be subject to arrest.

Everywhere in the world, you are charged in the jurisdiction or country in which the crime is committed. How could it possibly be any other way???

far as i understand

wherever the crime took place is where the person is charged and dealt with regardless of his country.

he can be extradited to his own country to serve sentence.
