Let Me Ask You Something Else --- When's The Last Time You Ever Read "The Gift Of The Magi" ? Hmmmmmm ?? Have You EVER Read It ? The Author Is O Henry, and it's a short story that tells of the love of a poor couple who each sell the only thing they have in order to buy a Christmas present for the other . I won't give away the whole story but in the end they discover that 'material things' mean NOTHING , and it's really only their LOVE that really counts .

So . . . How Have We Become So Materialistic ?

It seems like everyone back him stronger till you saw him with Oprah this weekend? Its like you think its some black power conspiracy. Oprah position is merely there for support. She's not running for any elected office?

Besides, look at the polls right now -- not that they matter -- but He's the only democrat leading ALL GOP right now .. When we were suppossed to have this election LOCKED, you still have Hillary whose went up on negative ratings to 54%, went down in the polls (yes, even nationally) which has caused her to continue going negative, and in the polls she's loosing to McCAIN and soon to be Hucklebee.

BIGGER QUESTION: If your a Dem, wouldnt you want a DEM who could win the election --- Forget all the speal youve heard andf the hopla... Who is our best chance of getting a DEM in the white house?

I have had aortic valve re-placed in 06, (bovine ) still have anginia on a daily basis, however the pain i have had the past couple of days is a tearing, ripping pain off and on during the day. only last a few seconds, and i noticed it is when I am busy doing house hold chores (making bed, etc) It scares me a little because I know it is direct pain inside the heart. I am not fond of calling the Dr. for every ache and pain so I am useing the " wait and see appraoch" is my way of dealing with this for now.Is it possible for the valve to tear and thats what I am feeling?

Okay, so the other night, my son was using the word "sex" in a sentence (my boys are turning 10 x-mas eve) so I thought I would sit them both down and have a little talk about it. Is this too young? My folks never talked to me about it, but I am sure I should tell them about it. My husband and I were both involved in the talk.... But how much info is too much info????? please advise.

Some theists claim that God revealed his existence to them through a miracle, answered prayer, or holy book.

Others argue that God does not prove himself to us because he is not accountable to us.

There are also those who say God constantly proves he exists through the order and beauty of nature.

My question is -- What exactly is God willing to do to demonstrate his existence or power? What does God refuse to do?

consider for a moment that a lifeform far more advanced than man was 2000 years ago (both technologically and biologically) landed on earth. would people know the difference between some sort of ufo, or would they attribute it to being from god? imagine the lifeform was very similar to humans and could procreate with us. just imagine if any of us could go back in time with the knowledge we have of science. what sort of things could we pull off to convince people we were god? with our knowledge of medice, how hard would it be for us to cure the sick, or the blind? with our knowledge of physics, how hard would it be to develop shoes which allow us to walk on water? and that's just talking about us. i'm not even talking about aliens that have mastered intergalactic travel. imagine what sort of technology they might possess that we don't. if they knew we were searching for god, don't you think they'd try to have some fun at our expense?
