One criteria I would like to add since it was raised by a responder (thanks!), is that the woman can be fatherless from birth or a significant part of their growth was spent without a father (please don't make me elaborate father on what "significant" means! LOL!). Thanks!

That's a good question. I can't think of any personally, although I'm sure they're out there.

I do know that I wouldn't be half the person I am today if it weren't for the influence of my dad. My mother was a great lady but she didn't have much in the way of rebellious spirit. :-)

Here are some I can think of:

Gloria Steinem
Cher
Barbra Streisand (her father died when she was a toddler)
Christina Aguilera
Mary J. Blige
Oprah Winfrey (she technically did grow up in a fatherless home because her teenage parents never married. Her father didn't even know he had a daughter until the mother wrote him to ask him for money to buy baby clothes. She was largely raised by her grandparents until her mother decided to ship her off to her father because she could no longer handle her)

I cant think of one and Oprah didnt grow up in a fatherless home. Families are a good foundation for education and achievement and heritage throughout the centuries. And that is a problem. We do NOT need an army of people with college/university degrees, we need a tiny fraction at the very top more in managment and a few more with the skills to work as doctors lawyers and the like. Other than that we need an armada of people that fills us up with gas bakes bread works in factories flips burgers etc.
The nuclear family and family values threatens the order of things, with families at large providing the basis to afford high levels of education for their children and heritage beeing passed on, thats why among the middle class lower middle class and underclass the scorn of family and family values has been encouraged, to keep the supply of the next generation, "do you want fries with that" coming.

it somewhat is not all as a results of self-discipline. usually, single mothers tend to be decrease earnings, paintings greater hours (so are away greater, leaving new child unsupervised or with sitters), and attempt to 'make up' for loss of the 2d determine with the help of giving in greater. Boys want a male place form in existence. They dont say this approximately females, because of the fact the girls do have a girl place form in fatherless properties. analyze have shown whether the father (or step father) is interior the image in any respect (and not an abusive thug), the lads odds of changing right into a offender dramatically decrease.

How long do they have to be fatherless. From birth?
1. Queen Elizabeth I was raised without contact with her father, and he died when she was young. Henry VIII, that is.
2. Bill Clinton's brother Roger
3. Oprah
Sorry, I'm just making these things up, except for Queen Elizabeth.
Here's a real one. Angelina Jolie.
Interesting question. I give you a star!

Rest assured ... if there were many examples the feminists would have made much ado about it.

There are very few examples. A woman raised without a father figure tends to be a spiteful, hateful, and duplicitous person.

Of course, this is why she joins N.O.W.

You probably wouldn't have heard of her unless you keep your eye on business news, but Mellody Hobson is the president of a Chicago-based capital-management company who grew up in a single-mother home.
