It seems like everyone back him stronger till you saw him with Oprah this weekend? Its like you think its some black power conspiracy. Oprah position is merely there for support. She's not running for any elected office?
Besides, look at the polls right now -- not that they matter -- but He's the only democrat leading ALL GOP right now .. When we were suppossed to have this election LOCKED, you still have Hillary whose went up on negative ratings to 54%, went down in the polls (yes, even nationally) which has caused her to continue going negative, and in the polls she's loosing to McCAIN and soon to be Hucklebee.
BIGGER QUESTION: If your a Dem, wouldnt you want a DEM who could win the election --- Forget all the speal youve heard andf the hopla... Who is our best chance of getting a DEM in the white house?

Im sorry, Not all white people feel hate towards Obama so I didnt mean to write it out that way but as I look at alot of the Obama (post Oprah event), there shockingly rasict attitudes or the idea that Obama has no chance after this weekend, its ridiculous. Theyve been saying he wouldnt match Hillary in $$$ but look at whats happening. They say he would beat her in a single poll and yet look at whats happening.
As soon as the tide turned (and believe me, Ive been waiting for the day when it did..probably like many Obama supporters) so did the attitude of white America.
Also -- WE PUT OUR HANDS ON OUR HEARTS FOR THE PLEDGE OF ALLIGANCE..not the national anthem!!

REBOP - you have it wrong! And if your mnaking that distinction, you would have to say the same for all the white people supporting Hillary are racist, right? See.. it doesnt go hand in hand. His support both white and black are backing him because HE NOW HAS THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN, not hillary ..

I think Oprah is backing Obama because she believes he is sincere and incorruptible.
Most people seem to think this about Obama. Even a cynic who was cynical about him (and about everything) thinks he is sincere. The only thing the cynic could say that was cynical about him was that he will probably be killed.
Let's hope that that doesn't happen.
Let's hope that he gets into power, avoids getting assassinated, remains incorruptible and changes things for the better.
Oprah is pretty smart. She is probably right about Obama.
It is time we have a black president who is also a sincere person. It is time we have an incorruptible president, and if he is black - well, all the better!
I also think she is right about Hillary.
...and just for the record - I am a white woman and I don't really believe in politics or politicians...
but maybe Obama will be able to make a difference - and he should be given the chance to try...

Ron Paul
Barack Obama
In that order.
Yaakov, I would definetly vote for that ticket!
I am seeing more and more people having the same two picks as me, in order. I think people realize these two men represent the most change.
So far, I think Obama has a better chance of winning the Dem. nomination than Paul does of winning the Rep. nomination. It is early though and things can change.
This will be a very interesting election! It will be a very good day when Bush/Cheney are out of office! They are bad for America!

Actually, I think Oprah probably has more white females in her audience than black. Her endorsement of Obama is a real blow to Hillary. If white women can feel good about not voting for a woman (that they really do not like very much) and instead voting for a black man that Oprah says is a good man, that will be huge!
Merry Christmas!

I used to be a Dem, now I'm an Independent. I would vote for Obama in a heartbeat. I'm tired of people playing the race card on this election.

I like Obama and think he would bbe a good choice.
I am not sure he can win a national race yet when you consider there is a lot of closet prejudice out there.
I think that is terrible, but things are as they are not as we would like them to be. I will vote for Obama all the way.

I lost some respect for Obama, because I have even less respect for Winfrey. Do you think anyone would think better of a white candidate if Ricky Lake campaigned for him? -yk
P.S. Hey Dave! How about a ticket with Ron Paul for Pres and Barack Obama for Veep? I think I could go for that.

Probably, the white middle class people in U.S are afraid of having a liberal female president more than a black president.
You will see at the next president election anyway, if I was right or not.
Since I am from Sweden, I wish them both luck.

Best chance of Dems winning is probably Edwards. Nice clean cut white guy.
Hillary is way too widely hated to have a legit shot at winning. I like Obama personally, but I dont know if mainstream America will vote for him.

It has nothing to do with race for me...I just want the best candidate. I would never vote for Hillary and I am white and female. I would vote for Obama if I were a liberal.
