It'd be nice to go after work...I'm sure others would agree.

I agree with you, it would be great to go in the evening, make a date of it, go to the museum and then go have a nice dinner. I would opt for all museums though not just ones centered on art. It would even be nicer if the had one evening for adults only. I hate to be enjoying a moment looking at a piece of art and suddenly hear, "hey mom look at that she's naked." This has actually happened to me, when I gave the mother a dirty look, she said what do you expect he's just a little boy. I told her, " it wasn't what he said, it was the volume he said it at". Her reply was "oh I'm sorry about that". Another time because I am disabled I use a scooter to get around, some preteen complained to security that I was taking up to much space in front of the different works of art he wanted to see.
Yeah, just one night for adults please.

Hmm...I think this must be something that depends on where you live. Nearly all of the art museums around me have at least one night a week that they're open later.

Kimbell Art Museum
Fridays from Noon - 8:00 p.m.

Dallas Museum of Art
Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Sid Richardson Museum
Friday & Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Amon Carter Museum
Thrusdays from 10:00 a.m - 8:00 p.m.

They could change their hours but I'm sure their staff want to be home with their families in the evenings. They are open on weekends usually. How do you have time to go after work? Between home responsibilities, distance too from good museums, gym, and schoolwork, I don't have the time.

Reason 1 : There are very few people like you and me.

Reason 2: Meuseums cannot afford to pay for full staff round the clock.

Try galleries instead. They have exhibition openings in the evenings, and often serve wine and nibbles for the viewers/punters. Dress nice for these.
