Do you think overweight people face a lot of discrimination?

I never realized how much discrimination overweight people face until I gained weight after the birth of my second child. Suddenly, everyone seemed to notice my size. I wasn't obese, just enough to be overweight. My family, friends, even strangers from the grocery store had something to say about my weight. Some were concerned for my health. Others just seemed concerned about how my body looked.

sooooo supsiously curious about "him"?

theres this guy (my crush) he almost is in my class, everytime i'm doing something like talking to my friends he always looks at me. i sit at the far back and he sits quite far from where i sit. Anyway, whenever i eat my lunch hes like observing me and when i look up at him he turns his face away. But a few weeks ago our teacher told us to clean up and stand behind our desk, so we did and a was just standing there and he was looking at me. I loooked at him and he smiled. Does he like me or something?

Is this even possible???

I was born with strabismus, I have always worn glasses but have switched to contacts. My eyes drift outward slightly, but since I got my contacts my parents and sister have noticed it decrease alot. Not to mention my friends. I am glad, but am baffled as to why this has happened. Why?

Atheists, would you be more willing to accept a God if he was not all powerful?

I'm an Atheist. I've always found the idea of an all powerful and benevolent God to be somewhat ridiculous... No offense to anyone, but it's just something i find very hard to accept, mostly due to the state of things down here on earth.

But i was reflecting on this and i think if He weren't all powerful, i would at least be able to accept Him as a possibility.. I mean, there would still be zero proof for his existence, and i would likely still be an Atheist, but at least maybe i wouldn't find the whole concept so ridiculous.

I could at least understand the idea for a God who wages war with the forces of Evil, and so on... besides, it'd make for a heck of a better storyline. I mean c'mon, you'd have angels fighting demons and so on, it'd be rather exciting.

What do you think?

I'm a decent girl and I can't get a boyfriend. Is there something wrong with me, I sound petty. :( tankie xx

So even though I have a positive view of life and I tell everyone else too I'm quite depressed that I don't have a boyfriend. I go to an all girl school and for my guy friends outside school I set my sister up with one of them and they are in bliss at the mo, but I can't get any of the love myself lol. I've changed for the better though. My fashion sense has way improved and I'm more comfortable with myself but the thing is guys don't seem that attracted to me. I told a guy that I liked on msn (YES I KNOW A BIG MISTAKE) and all he could say was 'I don't know what to say' and it just seems that anytime a really rreally cute guy comes around that I like he seems to look right past me to that other girl standing behind me. What should i do I just feel so down and I don't want to turn into someone I don't want to be just so I fit a guys expectations since this scenerio is really bringing me down since i'm like 16 and have never had a boyfriend, and I do get out when I'm not doin exams :(x

Why would a guy look at a girl a lot from afar, yet when they are closer, he completely ignores her?

I think its pretty obvious that this is my situation. My friend and I catch him staring/looking across class or from far away, yet at as he comes closer, he acts like im invisible. And he sometimes talks about me/teases me to OTHER people in class, yet he's never said 1 word to me. Any insight into this conundrum would help a lot. =]
oh and we're both 15, if that helps any.

How did people count the years before Jesus?

I know that now we calll it BC, for instance BC 431. But what was the reference before Jesus came, because at that time they obviously had no idea that he would be born on the Earth 431 years later. Does anyone know how they counted years?
