It seems that I lie to my wife about anything. As long as I can give her the answer she is looking for, and it keeps me out of trouble, I lie. Example: I'm dieting and something so simple as the food I was supposed to make for my supper (at work), I lied about. I said I made Tuna, but she knows how many cans there are. I should have known that, but I lied. I didn't bring supper. I was too busy watching something online to make it. But I lied to her about it. She found out, she is pissed. This has been going on for years. It started when I told her I didn't smoke, and then she found out. Then I kept lying to her about everything. Even things that aren't a big deal and wouldn't get me in much trouble, I lied about. Small little insignificant things. It seems to be that a lie will come out of my mouth so fast I don't have time to think about it. No time to think about whether or not I should lie. It's like a natural reaction. Why am I doing this? Why am I hurting her?

Just curious...

My spice rack/cabinet/ table (Got lots, heh) is pretty full with most of the stuff you could think of. A bit of overkill really.
What do you guys think belongs in any respectable spice collection? The essentials? Neccessary extras?

Is presumptuousness a 'sin' aka a wrong-doing aka all around a terrible, destructive frame of mind?

If so, isn't it a contradiction to call it a sin, yet presume things to a black and white, 'in or out' level of dealing with your fellowman?

I see so many posts about what 'will' happen to people for their actions or lifestyles, but if being presumptuous is being comparable to a pharisee in the Bible, shouldn't this arrogance be avoided?

I find it aggrivating to read people's comments that take on this tone -- believer or non-believer, mind you -- because it automatically means they are not open to the possiblity that they may be wrong, like so many (if not all) of us often are. Thus, any discussion you may have with them will be one-sided and really, not a discussion at all.

I need to find a painting that is described as romantic. It can be an image of a couple or an image of a female looking romantic. It doesn't matter whether or not the painting or art work is famous as long as I can see it. But it would help a lot more if the painting or art work is famous and from the past. The painting or art work can be from textbook, online, Christmas cards, etc.

So can anyone please help me out? Thanks

Traditionally, the "silver cord" is seen as the line tying us and our life to our physical bodies, and once it is snapped, we leave our bodies since they have physically died. Many have seen this phenomenon in the astral plane (not me, and I have no reason or intention to ever go there.) It is a classical "new age" idea, but is Biblical as well!

Ecclesiastes 12:5-7 (New International Version)
6 Remember him—before the silver cord is severed,
or the golden bowl is broken;
before the pitcher is shattered at the spring,
or the wheel broken at the well,
7 and the dust returns to the ground it came from,
and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

Why are people so scared of New Age terminology and ideas, when they are based on Biblical proof? Granted, some of the New Age philosophy is incorrect and "out there", however, the ancient ideas that the fundamental basis of it is entirely Biblical. Do some research, use your brain, and decide for you!
