Is there a difference on how you word a question on asking someone out?

In asking to go to a movie the difference between. "Would you like to go to a movie." or "lets go see a movie.", or "Are you free to see a movie.". Does phraseing it differently get different asnswers?

Depends -- is it first date or have you been together for a while? If it's first date, "Would you like to go to a movie + with me" would be better or "Such and such a movie is playing such and such a night. If you're free, would you like to go see it with me? Or, if you don't want to see the movie, we could do something else.

Phrasing does count. Is your question really about seeing a movie -- or are you inviting her/him to spend time with you? Make it clear that you want to spend time with them doing whatever suits you both. The date is about the time spent together, not necessarily the activities. They might really want to spend time with you, but not necessarily at the movies, so give them an option. Just make it clear that you are interested in spending time with them, and you'll usually get an honest answer -- and that's what you really want. Go for it!

kind of cause it's all in how well you know the person, take for example a friend, usually you say," wanna see a movie" cause you know them well, but if you said that to a girl you didn't know well, could be taken as arrogent or an i don't care attitude, which probably wouldn't make a good impression, same with the tone of voice. Of course, once you know them better, they usually respond likewise.... "eat crap, you jerk....call when you learn some manner's"!!!

Well, yeah.

If you say "Yo, dawg, wanna liek go out or somethin?" then they'll think you're unintelligent.

If you say "Madamoiselle, would you perhaps like to go watch a movie sometime?" They'll think your a freak from the renaissance.

So, just act yourself.
