if you want him out of the bed, but he doesn't want to be out of the room, try putting the crib right next to the bed. so you can see each other, but he is still sleeping on his own. far as waking up in the middle of the night. i am guessing he is telling you he is hungry. try popping a pacifier into his mouth and talking or singing lightly till he goes back to sleep. every mom will give you different advice. try some for a few days till you find what works for you and baby.

Not surprising. He's probably used to co-sleeping with you. I tried to wean my baby off from my bed too when she was 9 months old, but it ended up with me fully waking up every now and then walking over her crib and feeding her. Well what the heck, it was more tiring than just leaning over my side and giving the breast. Sometimes a baby just wants to hold your breast and fall asleep you know. We ended up co-sleeping. Couldnt be better.
Dont worry. They wont be babies forever. Soon they'll hate you for even coming to their room. Sigh.

Just continue sleeping with him. Waking only once at night is pretty good for a 9 month old - count yourself lucky!

Just continue sleeping with him. Him waking up once a night doesn't sound bad at all. We are still cosleeping with our 11 month old...and he wakes at least 3 times a night; and we love every minute of it. :-D
