A lot of people say that life is a matter of choice, how come life changing events happen to us in a glimpse and most of the time beyond our control which does not leave us any option or choice to avoid such events? likewise, changing the whole course of our life. Isn't life then a matter of destiny than of choice?

During the 60's 70's and 80's, MADD likely prevented nuclear or large scale conventional war. While the risk of such a war with russia is now low, there have been many changes since then that could possibly allow a first strike scenario by the US a hypothetical victory. Such as: reduced capability and readiness in russian early warning systems, large US advantage in Submarine capabiliy possibly allow the US to lauch a fairly large first strike on nuke targets from short range/low altitude, stealth technology capable of launching airborne nuclear weapons. Therotically, combining intel suberfutge, special forces ops at russian installations, subs, stealth, superior sat capability, and perfect timing, would it not be possible to take out a vast majority of russian nuclear retaliatory capability with a first strike? What would the odds be? Also, if not russia, surely we would be capable of taking out most of china's nuke capabilty with such a strike?

I'm going to get a fresh tree this year and don't know whether it's cheaper to get one from a tree farm or from the (for example) Masons club stand down the street.

I live in the Andover area if that influences your answer any.

Thanks!

Dimmesdale returns home from the forest ot the settlement. As we watch him go, we are struck by the change in the man. The minister who went to the woods was weak to the point of death. The minister who returns is nothing short of frenzied. In fact, he seems a little crazy.

Dimmesdale's journey home is a progress fraught with peril, for at every step, he is tempted to do some outrageous thing or another.

What does he feel like teaching to the children he sees in town?

What is he tempted to tell the newly "won-over" virgin?

When Dimmesdale gets home, he lies to Chillingworth. What is this lie?

The minister also does something else, something that points in a different direction in his life. What does he do that evening to show that he is changed?

I think people are naturally good, but are corrupted by other people. It's groups, herd mentality, peer pressure, whatever you want to call it that is bad.
The solution is for everyone to become a hermit. You can't steal from yourself, or give yourself VD , vandalize your own stuff, commit fraud against yourself, or rape yourself. So look how many crimes are instantly wiped off the books. And since you aren't picked on by anyone, suicide would probably trickle to a halt too.
Pretty good idea, huh?

I usualy advertise and show new people, but im tired of them complaining if they dont like the new person.I have said that when a room is being vacated that they are wellcome to advertise on the net or whereever and find someone they like but they dont.
someone is leaving next wk and i havnt had much response on my ad so the room may be emty for a bit. what im worried about is when the bills need to be payed and they may have to pay between 2 people rather than 3 for a while. I dont want the blame or the expense as they may look to me to chip in. what are your thoughts as a renter or landlord?

After being knocked out of World Cup '06, Beckham and coach Erikson seemed to be blamed most for the loss. The management seemed to want to get rid of that "Swedish coach" and the "old poster boy".

In my opinion, it was a big mistake. Erikson was a fine coach and always got England far into the tournaments. And Beckham is the spiritual leader and "face" of England, even though he may be a little old and injured.

What do you guys think? Was new coach Mclaren and new captain Gerrard to blame for their not making to Euro 2008? In general, the team played very well (lots of 3-0 victories) but was just unable to make it. Bad luck? Or bad management?

I know there isn't much we can do that we have already done.
We've talked to him, tried to help him fix his loud car, .....called the city .
This man is 44 years old and lives in his mother's garage that only has a space heater in it.
He gets ready for work at 3:00 am, and starts his loud car, and leaves it run, while slams the door as he puts his papers for his paper rout in the car...lol.

The house is too small and the mother has her other handicapped son living with her also.
The mother has told us, she wished he could find his own place, but......she hasn't the heart to kick him out.
What would you do?
We cannot move, we own our house.
we cannot move to a diffenet bedroom, they all facing the same side.
