honesty is best because it keeps you clear of feeling guilty of wrong doing. EVERYONE knows that dishonesty is wrong. Deciept is hurtful and that is a form of dishonesty. Lies are hurtful and they, too, are a form of dishonesty. Honesty is a moral ,a principle, and an ethic, that we should all practice as it IS the right thing to do!
However if being of sound mind/spirit is not important to you,,if not having any friends, doesn't matter to you, than being an honest person probably isn't important to you and you can lie yourself right into a corner (where your bound to get the crap beat outa you),,,hehehhehe

Oh what a dangerous web we weave when first start to deceive. One lie compounds another and if you have not got a good memory you will be tripped up eventually. I know someone who lies compulsively - he said when we first met that his wife died two years before we met, we have known each other for 4 years last August and he said last May it was the 5th anniversary of his wife's death. Doesn't add up does it!

Lying hurts more than the truth, people will always find out the lies in the end. At least with the truth there's no secrets hidden that could make things even worse.
Hope this helps

I will simply answer it this way. If you lie and someone proves you wrong you must tell another lie and another and another. If you blame someone for something you did you may not loose one friend you may may loose several. Why does anyone trust a liar?
I wrecked my car when my parents were out of town. My friends told me to tell my parents a dog ran out in front of me. I called my parents and asked to talk to my father. I told him exactly why I wrecked the and I was to blame. When my parents got home they had the car repaired. I asked my mother why I was not grounded or the car taken away. She said my father told her on the way home," If I had not told the truth he would have taken the car and sold it."

Well if you tell the truth most all the time it keeps U from having to remember all the lies and to who u told them and what u said. And very inportantly it getz u respect as a person with integrity.

Well- if you don't want to get caught in a lie, you pretty much have to be consistent. If you're honest, you don't have to keep track of what the first lie was.
That aside, experiments have been done that suggest that liars are more likely to have trouble with their blood pressure, for instance.
