Maybe Bill Wirtz used his "Get Out Of Hell Free" card when he bumped into St. Pete.

Instead of slow roasting for eternity, the Blackhawks would get to experience much deserved success.

A lot of different things going on. First, after years of being a low finisher Chicago has collected enough top picks to have some good young talent (Toews, Kane and Sharp to name a few.) Next, Khabibulin is playing closer to the way that was expected of him when the Hawks signed him a few years ago. Add to that the outstanding job Denis Savard and crew are doing with this club and recent changes to management that has dramatically improved the attitude and outlook for the club and the Hawks are back. It's about time too.
Now if we can just give the Leaf fans some indication there also may be a light at the end of their long, dark tunnel then perhaps for the first time since the 1967 expansion we'd see all the Original Six teams back up to respectable levels of on-ice talent.

As a student of the game, I think Chicago's resurgence is great for Chicago, and great for the NHL. This is an exciting team. Even as a Detroit fan, maybe esp. as a Detroit fan (0-4 against the Hawks...ouch) I've developed quite a respect for their entire line-up. They can do better. Having perennial, weak cellar dwellers is not good for the league, even though, with our short sighted biases and 'til death do us part allegiances, we want to dominate our arch rivals and get the easy 2 or even 16 points. This isn't really good for the league nor is really that entertaining. Better competition sharpens everyone, iron sharpens iron. Go 'Hawks, but be willing to accept your fate (eventual spectators!) come play-off time.

Savard is doing a great job, they have some amazing young talent in Kane and Toews and Khabibulin is pretty solid.

Can't wait for Havlat to come back.

Go blackhawks!!!

They gotta let the Wings win at least 1 game this year.

don't like it...i'm a wingnut. they seem to have the wings number this year too....i smell a rivalry being reborn! hopefully they'll play some meaningful games or even match up in the play offs. (if chicago can keep it going?)
