All right, so I've been reading up on this Large Hadron Collider deal, and I'm not so sure I like the implications. Apparently, the scientists CONDUCTING the experiment aren't even sure what the thing does. When it is finally switched on, which I've heard will be anywhere from November 26, 2007 to May 2008, it will either, prove the big bang theory, by producing in layman's terms a little universe all it's own out of nothing, OR, it could create a black hole, or dimensional rift. Does anyone else think that this is a particularly BAD idea? Anyway, just something going through my head. You can look up the info on Wiki if you're unaware of this subject.

I recently read Avalon High ... in the book, it said that there is a society called Order of the Bear who believe that King Arthur will be reincarnated and history will repeat itself... so is the Order of the Bear real or just made up? im curious...

I'm only a teen, so bear with me here.

My belief Christianity has been wavering for as long as I can remeber. Sometimes I'm convinced of the existence of Jesus/God and other times I'm in doubt. Usually I'm somewhere in between, leaning on the side of belief. I REALLY do want to believe, but some part of me keeps holding me back (I'm pretty sure it's my brain!).

So my question to you is, what makes you a firm believer?

I have an 1863 Springfield Rifle Type II (stamped at 1864). The Eagle emblem is visible, and I'd categorize the rifle as in "good" condition.

I'd also like to know how to go about getting it appraised.

Thanks

Now I know nothing has ever been perfect in the world. Never will be! But with what with it looks like today, it just seems like an impossible task to teach kids, teenagers and young people. About moraity and values. From things like Love, honesty, respect, integrity. All the "traditional" things I guess you can say were taught growing up. To be a decent human. I almost feel I can't take any of it seriously. The same people who teach you these things are the same people you see go against those exact same teachings. You know? I'm 21 and look at the world around me. I look at the older generation and feel like almost everything were taught is a lie. All those things your taught just seemed like lip service. The contradictions in action and words are just so constant!

And yes I know, grown people are people too. No one is perfect like I said!

So it hard to teach values, ethic, morals to the up and coming generation? And really mean it?

The messages are just screwed up!!

i can pretty much have a good conversation with other people, but it doesnt work with her....

(she's bi, and im in the closet, but i think she knows i am since ive shown some hints)

i asked her out before. she said yes but never called. the date has passed, so i decided to be over her, but days later she approached me..she even opened up to me about her problems...but then we have nothing to talk about after...she never really asked questions (i didnt also coz i was always listening)...but she just stayed there despite the silence....

i dont know if i should invest emotionally for her...ive seen her with guys...i dont know...is this all worth it?

Hi, i have not been able to find any good and thorough information on options. I was wondering if someone could tell me what Open interest is, how the whole option cycle thing works, what the net on the option quote means, and this is unrelated to options, but what is mark-to-market accounting
? like i'm getting millions of different definitions of it an it doesn't make sense because they said that Enron did this.

I don't understand this. I am not a racist person, and I don't say anything when they decide to date out of their race. It's like a double standard. This guy told me that my boyfriend was not quote unquote "hitting my a** right." What's up with that and I how can i stop this kind of behavior. You love who you love.

With headlight switch on all other lights work - tail, interior, etc. The Hi beams do work if the turn signal is held back - but headlights do not work if the turn signal lever is left in lo or hi. Saw another question with same symptoms - and he resolved it with a new light switch. I hate to spend $100 + if that is not the cause. Other possibility may be turn signal multifunction switch - anyone have any input?
