In the McCann feeding frenzy how many times does it take for a lie to be repeated for it to be believed?
No matter that almost no facts are known, a few people repeatedly condemn the McCanns as if the evidence of murder is indisputable. They imply it's only a matter of time before others who admit they don't know are shown the error of their ways.
Some seem utterly convinced of their innocence, and are then abused for condoning child neglect. Others seem to be of the opinion that whether they are involved or not, they deserve locking up anyway.
Only a few weeks ago, I leaned firmly towards the conviction that her parents had nothing to do with Madeleine's disappearance.
I still haven't seen solid evidence to the contrary, but the constant drip-feed of hostility and malice masquerading as fact sometimes makes it difficult to keep an open mind. Doubts creep in.
