I bought a new dell laptop a few weeks ago, and it came with the new windows vista software. Now I need to buy a desktop for my little brother. A pension fund has decided to invest $45,000 in the two high-yield stocks:

Duke Energy Corp with a share price of $14 and yield return of 8%.

Eastman Kodak with a share price of $30 and yield return of 6%.

This pension fund has decided to invest at least 25% of the $45,000 in each of the two stocks. Further, it has been decided that at most 63% of the $45,000 can be invested in either one of the stocks. How many shares of each stock should be purchased in order to maximize the annual yield, while meeting the stipulated requirements? what is the annual yield in dollars for the optimal investment plan?

Isn't this country all about freedom? Isn't a liberal a liberated or a freed person?
So why is it so wrong or so hard to deal with that there are Liberals in our liberated country?
Isn't an American motto: Life, LIBERTY and the pursuit of Happiness. Not Life, CONSERVATISM, and the persecution of Happiness.
Why are Conservatives soooooo judgemental, yet said to be Christians? Don't strict Christians believe that God is the only one to pass judgement?
Enlighten me Conservative believers out there. I am an American with an open mind and I am willing to take your non-rude answers.

I love philosyphy! But i am a devoted cathlolic. Question i hear are like" what's the purpos in life?" but noboddy says to serve god. Another,"Is or life predifined or self-controlled?" Nobody says God controlls it. Has the Earth turned so God-less? Or was that threaded discussion full of atheist? Why be an athiest and have a harder time in life? If you beleived in some deity that's better than none! There's no down side to God! Why try disproving him/her? I love god, i don't always have agreat day, but i still can say i have somebody/spirit that loves me. Really that's all God wants to do for you! ALl God wants to do is love you and Make you have a happy life. Many Atheist i know don't like God b/c they don's have a good life or life isn't good for them. That doesn't mean God hates you! Why do atheist hate god?
* most really hate how others carry on about how great he is. Not him. They get confused but for long devoted Athiest.++Why is science and philosiphy excluding God?

Before Galileo, virtually everybody was a solipsist and God existed only within subjective mental experience. The physical was considered an illusion, created by the human mind, and nobody cared that God didn't exist there. Then the scientific revolution established that the physical realm was completely real. Descartes invented Dualism and believers asserted that their God existed both in subjective experience and in the physical realm. There is much evidence that God exists in the mental experience of believers, but there is none that He occupies the physical realm. I could easily believe in an old fashioned subjective God, if I wasn't also required to be a scientific hypocrite and pretend God exists where He never has, in the physical realm. Because of Dualism, millions of scientists are forced to become atheists to avoid the hypocrisy of accepting a physical God. Could believers return to purely solipsistic God, so scientists don't have to become atheists? Discuss this idea.

It is not like I was judging the questions myself. I look at the answers and I see things like "How come your question is so stupid?" or "Your question makes no sense.", etc., but yet you see a lot of answers like that.

It seems that people like to answer these questions. They are easy to answer. It's like a game where you have to ask the most stupid question and receive the most answers. You got an extra point if people don't realize that you did it on purpose.

We have an atrium in our home that is open to the sky. Birds perch on the roof and sometimes their droppings fall into our tiled atrium. Our cats are indoor cats but are allowed to go into the atrium because it is completely enclosed and safe from the outdoor hazards of coyotes, cars, etc. But I've noticed that one of the kitties seems to be eating something on the floor of the atrium and I suspect that it can be excrement from the birds. If it is true, it is totally gross and not typical of my fastidious little animals. Any ideas out there?
