See, I'm doing this project for school, and it requires me to pick a state, develop a small business in it, and find various information about it. I'm decided to do Arkansas for no particular reason, no offense to people from Arkansas, and I need to find the laws related to making a small business. If any of you guys could give me a website, or just plain tell me, I'd appreciate it alot.

Sometimes I feel like I have been given a very strong intuition or "supernatural" ability like being "psychic". However... I am a Christian and have been taught (and Believe) that people should stay away from stuff like that. It's really weird. I don't know what to do. Sometimes it feels stronger then other times. It comes and goes and I sometimes wish that I knew what was going on. Is this really a "gift". I don't believe in astrology or tarot cards and crap like that. What do you think?

1. For reasons science has not yet deduced, their hugs just work better.
2. Yes, they show off... but it's all to impress you.
3. They're not nearly as harsh with the criticizing girls' bodies as girls are on themselves and each other.
4. Without them, would we have the word "gnarly"? It's doubtful.
5. When they see "Boys suck" T-shirts and message board threads, it breaks their tender boy hearts.
6. Have you ever watched a boy watching a girl rummage through her purse? That wide-eyed, mystified look they get?
7. You can borrow their hoodies that smell like boy + dryer sheets.
8. If there's some pain in the *** thing to carry or open or fix or reach, they'll do it... eagerly, even, because it gives them a chance to flex their Boyness.
9. They make great bases for pyramids, chicken fights, and piggy-back rides.
10. Because you know how people say "Treat me like gum stuck to the bottom of your shoe once, shame on you; treat me like gum stuck to the bottom of your shoe twice, shame on me"? You can't complain about how much all boys suck because of how one or two specific boys treated you unless you TOLD them about how wrong they were. The reason he was probably such a jackhole to you in the first place was that he got away with it with ten other girls who never set him straight -- or he's retaliating against some girl who treated him like dirt. They have brains and they learn.
11. Uh, Johnny Depp?
12. They believe you when you tell them how you feel, even after you hurt them by not believing them when they're upset about something.
13. Holding it against them that society taught them not to discuss their feelings is just as lame as holding it against a girl if she cries at inconvenient times. If you give them a safe way to express their emotions -- a way that they know they won't get yelled at or beat up -- they usually will.
14. The part where their hair ends at the nape of their neck, when it's cut short, feels like puppy dog.
15. At the end of the day, alls they really want is for someone to comment on their blog. Just like you.
16. Girls lie plenty, too, hon.

It seems certain questions permeate the minds of many:
"What can I - one single person - do, to influence the world?" and "What more can I do?"

Might you already be doing it? Why must more be done?

So many, in life, are always trying to be something "more" than they already are. Standards are set so high that when they are not reached, an individual can be lead to feel like they're useless. So many look to the future as if it holds all the answers to their hopes and dreams; and will harbor feelings of inadequacy if everything doesn't work out as they "planned."

So I ask... Might it be best to stop trying to figure out where you're going and how you're going to be "more" than you are now, and just enjoy where you're at, and who you are, in the present moment?

Maybe you're influencing this life, on a much grander scale, than you give yourself credit for!

Thoughts...?

I was remeniscing on the past the other day, and I was thinking about an incident in 3rd grade where we were playing kickball for PE. I remember this girl Carrie kicking the ball and getting to first base. A boy next to me said "wow that was a good kick". I then responded "yeah, for a girl". The teacher's assistant, Michelle, who was perhaps in her early 20's, overheard this comment and then proceeded to lecture and scold me for making that statement. Something about "girls can kick just as good as guys" and some other stuff, I don't remember completely. Her propaganda tactics worked, because her being an adult and an authority figure, I took it in, and believed it for years to come.

Was this a young LycraSpandex's very first clash with feminism?

But, as I thought about it later, my comment wasn't really off the mark. The kick was a rather mediocre kick -- the ball skidded across the ground real fast, and only got her to first base.

Beginning in 1945, various government officials of the losing nations were prosecuted at Nuremberg [etc.] for "crimes against humanity".

Who and how are "crimes against humanity" determined?

What if some society or group does not agree that a particular action is a "crime against humanity"? Should its members and/or leaders be held responsible for such "crimes" anyway?

Comment: This is inextricably intertwined with the question of when it is moral and ethical for an outside power/people/nation to interfere in the affairs of another nation/power/people.

Another, more distantly related question might reasonably be whether the concept of evolution applies to collectives of intelligent beings such as nations, peoples, and societies. {I would argue that if you strictly apply the concepts of evolution to such collectives, then it is simply evolution functioning as it should when one such collective interferes in the affairs of another.}

Examples: Iraq and Darfur
