An Oregon high school teacher wants to be able to pack heat due to a restraining order against an ex-husband, who has allegedly made threats to her and her children.

If I were a parent, I could see it a lot of ways. The teacher has a right to defend herself against her potentially violent ex-husband. The teacher also has a right to defend herself against potentially violent students (at least at the high school I attended). But I can also see the concern of students attempting to steal the pistol from her (although I acknowledge it's not as likely if she has a license, and presuming that she would keep it on her at all times).

I mean, I can understand the school's policy of not wanting ANYONE who isn't a law enforcement officer to bring firearms on campus. But I also can't say that if I were the teacher that I would entrust school security to respond appropriately to my safety or that of my children and students.

Thoughts?

Hi everyone, I'm in a dilemma with one of my friends. He was a love interest at one point but recently, not anymore. We attend the same college and he is 2 years older than me. We are also in the same class. Whenever we have that class, we meet an hour earlier before the class starts at the cafe since we both are free at that time. For the past two times, he's been coming 15-27 minutes late. The first time this happened, I called him up and asked him where he was. He was being vague about his location and told me "I might go to the cafe later." Because I didn't like the uncertainty of the word "might", I went to the library. When he went to the cafe (15 minutes later), he called me up when he didnt see me and we met up. Yesterday, he wasn't at the cafe and I didn't bother to call him. Afterall, if he wanted to show up, he would show up, right? He didn't show up for 27 minutes and I didn't receive a phone call. Later on, he called me "impatient" and bitched about life. Any thoughts?

I owe a bank some money, and it was years ago when I was younger. I had started working for a company and because I had failed to appear by phone, which was bologna because when they sent me the letter the phone # they had was wrong and they knew my real # because they had called me previous times, they started to garnish my wages. I was pregnant at the time and after having my baby I had to quit because my paycheck was so little and I have two girls, and daycare is expensive. I own nothing and have no money. I sent them a sheet with questions about my finances and didnt hear from them for 3 months. Now they send me a letter saying that they will continue garnishing wages from the company I quit working for. But why when I sent them a certified mail of the sheet showing I quit and have no money. I am confused, any advice?

she has been a mother to me and her kids as my own siblings also.when her friend came to see me..she has started saying words against me and everything turned inside out.there has been a time that they have kept my things. mum doesnt want me to leave.i did something so she'll be angry at me and tell me to go.even if its against my will and my heart.i have recorded our conversation with one of her daughters.she got angry.but the next day when she saw me.she just hugged me so tight.and i told her the truth that i did that so she will hate me.so it will not be also hard for me to leave mum.now her kids are angry. i have never said anything against them cause i treated them as my own family.just i cant think that when people are jealous and saw a good relationship like we were like a family someone's always trying to ruin it.for their sake.why people has to be so harsh.this lady has told that mum and her kids hated me.but mum said its not true.what should i believe?

well, at least my opinions about it..

You know how there are hundreds of research places..some for cancer some for aids some for poisons some for dieabetes (ect) why cant the government put all of these centers together..make it one giant organization twords finding one cure at a time, all that funding all that information put together to help find the cures faster? (do you see what i mean)

basicly "work on cancer" when thats done "AIDS" and so on..

why not have every citizen in america send 5 dollars to the government to increase funding to strengthen security?
(or a giant fence)

why not change the first amentment by adding,
"applies to everyone over 18" at the bottom?

why not have the government schedual a meeting with the leader of alquida** (the terrorist dudes) and figure things out.. work on a settlement or actually learn why? they hate america. (if they actually do at all..i dont really trust our government)....and actually tell citizens the truth.

why not?

I can't hardly function I am rubbing my eyes, sneezing and blowing/wiping my nose so much! I have tried several different things the 24 hour claritin, a sinus allergy medicine and they didn't help me. I am medicated 24/7! UGH. I am used to having allergies every year this time but they seem even worse than normal. I can't even hold my baby without having to put him down real quick and run for tissue. What can I do or use that actually helps?
