to put it rather simply... does your God WANT to forgive you?

the impression I get from some, is that God more or less only forgives because he schitzophrenically exploits a loophole of himself,... or something.

I mean, if "he loves us so thats why he sent jesus so we could be forgiven" ... does this not seem inconceivably, almost psychopathically circuitous, unless he was *unable* to go about it in a more direct manner?

so the less critical version...

if God CAN forgive merely by willing it... why would he go about it instead, in such a peculiar way?

if God CANNOT forgive merely by willing it... ... why not?

and by "willing it" I mean, just by feeling like doing so, minus the ceremony of the whole jesus thing.

1) please no "god doesn't exist", its just wasting everyone's time.
2) please no "because he felt like it"
3) please no explanation with "god" and "can't" in the same sentence, (or equal meaning) unless your INTENDING to concede your God to be in fact, NOT Omnipotent.

I was put in jail thursday nite at 8:00p.m until fri at 10:00a.m.The problem was they said I had a writ of attatchment for a bill I was sued over.I tried to explain that the writ was released over two months ago as I was paying directly out of my check for this.The officer said oh well.They took me to jail and was not even given a phone call or anything.They would not even check to see I was telling the truth.It took my wife calling the court house and the party involved to get this fixed.I missed a whole day of work of overtime of $22.50hr.I have three children and its very hard two make it now days.Am I asking alot that they pay me for my ten hours.The Sheriff apologized but this doesnt help my pocket book.What would you do?

its been 2 weeks since the open surgery on my appendicitis, so, how much longer would i be able to do sit ups and push ups, coz my abs is really turning in to flabs, and i lost a lot of weight already...maybe because my muscle weight turned to fat weight already... i really need help, i dont want an odd shape body before September... coz that would be the day my crush would arrive, and ive been doing situps for 3months now... btw, the doctor said, no gym, b.ball, strenuous sports for 3 months.. :)

i have a 1995 kawasaki ninja 250 and the damn thing will not start it's been sitting for a couple years and i have cleaned the crabs new plugs new coils and it still will not start even with starting fulid it try's and then one of two things it spit back or back fires the plug on the clucht side will show balck stuff on it but the other side is clean? both coils ad working fine all i can say is someone please help thanks rick

Before Christ was born, followers of God needed to sacrifice the best of their flocks to God, to clear them of sin. Then, in a moment of great compassion, God let humans slaughter his "son" as a final sacrifice, which would allow him to forgive sins from then on without any further deaths of humans or animals. My question is, why did God require a sacrifice at all? Couldn't he just forgive sins for the sake of it? Surely a God who can do anything can forgive sins without someone or something getting killed???

My son reacts very badly to food additives, particularly preservatives. All the syrup type medications I have found so far have preservatives in them, and most have flavours and colours as well.

He can take tablets, so I can give him a tablet of panadol for headaches/fever etc, and he likes to drink teas so sometimes I'll give him peppermint tea if he has a sore tummy, but is there anyone that knows of things that are less full of junk but would help with other symptoms such as blocked noses, sore throats, upset stomachs, etc? I've also tried vicks vapor rub, and that helps but he doesn't like it for some reason, so it would be good to have a different option, too!
