we would be be destroyed, their would be no winner. U.S has technology but China has the arms, i saw a military video and I saw standard chinese infantry men with AK-74. If such a thing would happen war with China, The U.S would have to result in using bombs and nukes, because a invansion would slaughter u.s soldiers. The U.S would keep nuking and bombing until China asks for terms. BTW, it would be a conventional warfare, and thats the U.S is expertize at $558,332,229,031 dollars a day on military technology. China, 8,223,445,674 dollars

I think they are fairly high. I wouldn't say immediately, but within the next 25 years, my guess is it is almost inevitable. You must look at China's defense budgets, and their continuous increase. I am not just spouting my opinion here. If you are curious about this I would recommend you look at Jane's defence, or read this book: Showdown: Why China Wants War with the United States by Jed Babbin, and Edward Timperlake. China has become increasingly agressive towards all other countries in it's region. Increased military exercises around Taiwan, (with whom we have a defence pact with), as well as increasing tensions with Japan.
I would say the west's chances of going to war with China are in the 70% range in the next 25-30 years.

China has no reason to go to war with us, because they will take control by economic terrorism.

When the Wests insatiable greed for consumer goods is being fulfilled by the Chinese and the West has no sustainable industry, the Chinese will turn off the supply unless they get their own way. Just like an addict whose habit is being denied, the West will capitulate to Chinas demands.

The threat of no i-pods, mobile phones, electrical goods, clothing etc etc will prove too terrible the contemplate.

We are feeding a monster that if it wants will eat us all, when its time is right.

First of all, why would the WEST go to war with China? Who is the West? There is an "us" against "them" in the question which reeks of prejudices.
Why not the US against Europeans? They are our closest and toughest competitors.

In any case, in any type of war, with anyone, the US has an upper hand. Will we be able to hold the territory? That is the question.

There really isnt a motive for war on either side. Both sides would suffer economic set backs because both sides rely on eachother's economies mutually. The only reason there would be a war is an attempt by china to retake Taiwan militarily. But as much as they might want to, they probably wouldnt because of the above said reasons.

There is a 50/50 likelihood of some sort of small-scale war over where our & their ships are allowed to & not allowed to go in the next few-to-hundred years. This is because of the competition to control certain trade routes, and the fact that some things are not allowed in China & other things in the west. Also, there are lots of coveted deep-sea drilling areas in disputed or neutral waters.

No chance. Many chinese live in the west. Many.I have lived/worked in China the last year. People are very very kind, polite and considerate. No chance of war. Not one.

Very low. China is too busy expanding their economy to worry about expansion, so as long as they don't invade Taiwan, the odds of armed conflict with China is pretty low. However, the ultimate invasion of Taiwan is a given, so that one's a question of "when", if it doesn't sink into the ocean first.

As far as the west invading, I don't see us attacking China over the quality of their imports.

China has almost no history of aggressive warfare. But they've been attacked by foreigners for thousands of years. If China does go to war, it will be because they perceive threats to their land and people.
Unfortunately, this includes Taiwan, a country they perceive as a "renegade province" of China.
