The wage on the resume I sent them is lower than my current pay as I just got a promotion recently before they offer me the job. Is this necessary? I thought they should pay according to their range of salary bar.

It is quite a normal practice. There are people who put a higher pay in their resume in order to have a higher pay. Just faxed it over and tell them the truth. I believed they are able to accept it

This is not an uncommon practice - the prospective employer wants to verify your employment, and the payrate that you told them. If your rate is now higher, include a note in your fax cover explaining about the promotion.

If, for some reason, you prefer to verify your previous pay rate, just fax them an earlier pay slip that shows the lower amount.

Usually the hiring company do not ask for it, most of the time its the executive search companies that want the proof from the job seeker. Anyway, I think if you really want the job, you should send the lastest copy to them and inform them at you got a pay rise recently but would still be interested to get the pay that you have previously asked for.

Think its part of the HR hiring routine and you might not want to take it too negatively.

I've never heard of that. It's usually a negotiation. They know what the position they are offering is paying. It sounds like they already don't trust you. Doesn't sound like much of a future.

I have never heard of such a thing. In addition to showing their distrust of you, it is obvious that they are trying to get away with paying you the least amount of salary they can.
