A hypothesis is:
1. a proposition, or set of propositions, set forth as an explanation for the occurrence of some specified group of phenomena, either asserted merely as a provisional conjecture to guide investigation (working hypothesis) or accepted as highly probable in the light of established facts.
2. a proposition assumed as a premise in an argument.
3. the antecedent of a conditional proposition.
4. a mere assumption or guess.
Where did we all come from? A frequent mere assumption / guess / antecedant of a conditional propostition / assertion is that God did it. This is logical only because as far as humans are aware of, humans are the most intelligent and powerful beings in the universe. So if we were created by anyone, it would be someone like us. That makes some sense, but it possesses problematic premises: that humans are the greatest thing ever, and that we needed something intelligent and powerful to create us. I cannot think of any reason why someone powerful
