Life insurance is one of the more conservative and risk averse businesses and yet now life insurance companies are offering from 6% to 15% discount to vegetarians because they believe our diets are more healthy

One life insurance company said:
"The risk of vegetarians suffering from some cancers is reduced by up to 40% and from heart disease by up to 30%"

and

"It said that despite the fact non-meat eaters are less likely to suffer from a range of chronic diseases, vegetarians do not pay less for their life cover and are therefore “subsidising” meat eaters."

Seems to me, the world is waking up.

Unfortunately if i post the link some meaty-trolls will report me for advertising. Perhaps google "life insurance vegetarian" if you are interested.

alright here is the deal i'm 17 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I live on my own with my Fiance. i have my own car and pay all of my own bills. we were trying for a baby and got pregnant right away. we are so excited. anyways my mother wasn't so thrilled. why i don't know we make more money than she does and don't have nearly her debt we are pretty good off financially. anyways i was talking on the phone with her and she said that my grandma and her were going to have a baby shower and blah blah blah. she has went and bought tons of stuff for us and i thought she had lost her bad attitude. well i was talking to her a couple of days ago and asked her where she thought i should register and she said for what and i said my baby shower. i thought you said that you were having one. and she said oh yeah but i wasn't sure what you were going to do and i was confused and said what are you talking about and then she said nothing i have to go i'll talk to you later. what in the hell is her problem?

Every time I ask one, I get people saying "That would never happen". Whether it would happen is irrelevant - it probably won't. The point is that hypothetical questions cause you to think about your views in new ways. It makes you examine your belief system to see if it holds up even in odd situations.

I don't know how many of you have seen the movie "When Harry Met Sally", but I remember a scene in which Billy Crystal argued that men can't be "just friends" with a woman. Unfortunately, I'm beginning to wonder if he was right. I've tried being "just friends" with some men, and it usually hasn't worked out. On one occasion, the guy fell in love with me, though unfortunately, I didn't feel the same way about him. Recently, I became friendly with a married couple and their two kids. Unfortunately, the husband wanted more than just friendship from me. A friend of mine told me recently that her husband said that if a man is ever especially nice to a woman, he usually has ulterior motives.I hate to say this, but it seems that just about the only time I can enjoy a nice, platonic friendship with a guy is when he's gay. What gives?

I have a huge balcony which has concrete walls on either end, and on the front balcony wall. My balcony is as wide as my living room and I see the balcony very clearly from the LR, DR & kitchen areas. The concrete walls need to be painted. Hasn't been done for six years. Paint has cracked & chipped in areas.Balcony ledges need some repairs too. What is the best & easiest method for a DIY to clean the concrete walls before I paint? Can anyone advise me the best cleaning solution to buy? Should I use a wire brush for washing the concrete? The walls are soiled from rain and soil and just being exposed to the elements, especially during the winter months. HELP! I need help please. Thanks!

As my beetle was quoted £1100 insurance for 17 year old driver as first car, but when i asked for a quote for a smaller engine it said, £1700 for a 1300cc engine!?

I just read a response to another question where a woman claimed she "always" submits to her husband in every situation. Is there any exception to this? What if your husband makes a decision that you think is really bad, even wrong? Will you speak up? Will you still submit because in the end he's the man therefore he has the authority?

My daughter had to have a car after high school to be able to get to a job. She found the job, and there was no other way for her to get a car unless I funded the vehicle loan. We tried and I could not even listen to the swindlers in the payday loan business.
I recieved an offer on my Chase credit card for 4.6% until the balance is paid in full, so I bought her a $4,500 toyota with the card and she has remained faithful paying me $80 every 2 weeks.
We live in the middle of no where, so she had to have something reliable to drive to her Walmart job 25 miles away.
I was nervous about loaning her such a large sum of money, but the alternative was to watch her do nothing.
My daughter does not know I am paying $300 every 2 weeks along with the $80 she gives me on this car to get it paid off.
Did I do the right thing? She just lost her job at Walmart for starting a relationship with her manager. She has an interview at JC Penny. I was a single mother and her dad does not help her

Is it okay for women to make more money than men?
my wife and i are both family doctors. She makes $140k while i make $100k, and i have no problem with that. I am actually proud that she is worth more than me in the medical market.

But, while at a party, a friend of mine was outraged that i made less than my wife for some reason. i told him that i was proud and had no problem with that, but i think he had issues with male-biased thinking. he was asking about salary, so i didnt ignore his question

also stating your age range will help me understand where you are coming from
0-20, 20-40, 40-60, 60-118(oldest human i think)

Last night, I used the word "kype" in a sentence, as in "John kyped a cookie from the tray". A person who heard me was offended believing it is the same as the anti-Semitic "kyke". (FYI, a "Kype" is a minor theft, it can also be used as a verb, as in the sentence above.)

I am not trying to justify my use of the word, and given the similarity of the two words, and Jewish stereotypes, I can believe the word is derogatory. However, this morning I decided to find out for sure. When I searched online (google and other search engines, several online dictionaries, Wikipedia) I could not find any information about the possible source. And, the only dictionary that even listed the word was the 'urban dictionary'.

Does anyone have good information about the word "kype" and can confirm if it is or is not derogatory .
