If your first labor was fairly easy, chances are good that this one will be, too, and all the stages of labor will probably be shorter as well.

If you had an episiotomy last time it should be well-healed right now and won't cause any complications. Depending on the size of the baby's head, you may or may not tear again.

All the best to you and baby!

You seem to be from another country, not the US, where I am. But pregnancy questions are much the same, I suppose.

Provided your daughter is in a head-down position, I'd say you need to get to the hosp early unless there's someone around you who can deliver a baby. Some people give birth really quickly, and you may be one of them.

In the US, we have a choice about episiotomies. I told my dr. that he was not allowed to cut until I was beginning to tear. Episiotomies, as I'm sure you are aware, are responsible for most of the pain experienced after the birth. I think a lot of drs. don't hesitate just do it automatically. If you would rather not have one, you'd better advise your dr. and remind him during the birth.

I had an easy c-section the first time, my daughter's head was 14 cm and she was 10lb 6oz. She simply didn't fit. Anyway, when my son came, I said, I just want another c-section. The dr. advised that I try to deliver vaginally--it's better for you. Yeah. So I went through hours of pushing and lots of pain, and I had to be the one to suggest c-section. He thought I really, really had this need to deliver naturally! He FORGOT I wanted a c-section in the first place!! Arg!! So I was one of those patients who not only had a c-section, but had all the hemorrhoids and pain downstairs, too.

The point is, if something is important to you, you need to remind the dr. during the birth.

What a blessing to have another little girl in the family. It's so much fun to dress them in cute outfits and do their hair in cute little styles. Almost like having a baby doll. Enjoy both your girls, a healthy, happy family.

I had a natural birth for my DS. I had some minor tearing.

Every labor is different, but if you did it once with out meds you will be able to do it again! I've heard the second one is usually much easier (and often faster) than the first.

You might have some scarring from the episiotomy. I'd ask your dr if they think you will need one again. You can also try massaging the perinum (sp?) to try and stretch it out ahead of time or during labor. (My OB did this during the labor to help minimize tearing.)

I was told that your second is half of the time the first one was. For me that was true, I went from 6 hrs to 3 hrs to1hr 40 min. I had episiotomy with all three there was no problems with that either. So good luck and congratulations with the new baby girl.

Every birth is different. I had a easy birth with my son, had an epidural but ripped horribly. With my daughter I had hard labor, no pain relief and didnt rip at all. Its just the luck of the draw and how your body handles it.
