The majority of christians haven't actually read the bible. This was revealed after several surveys.

Matthew 6:6 deals with the intent of the heart when you are praying .... if you read it in context vs5 starts off with "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites......"
The verses 1-15 are about the internal attitude of the heart and praying the will of God.... i.e., vs9-13 "The Lord's Prayer."
and it's a reassurance that even a prayer as faint as a whisper, when coming from a sincere and contrite heart is heard by God..... you dont have to be loud and obnoxious and sweating all over the place for God to hear you......
and yeah, I'm A/G but i'm not big on tele-evangelists either....

Well, let's see - there are over a billion Christians in this world. And you can find 10 (20?) people praying on TV. I wonder what the rest of us are doing? Praying, maybe?

Because they're hypocrites. No one EXCEPT christians watch those shows anyhow, so isn't it a form of preaching to the choir???

but also the duty of a christian is to spread the word, so some with on air capabilities use tv as a tool..if you dont like it or just mock it, dont watch it.

the answer is everything" you are about" here is between you and father, noone else. At the end it will be between you and father, whether you believe it or not whether you like it or not.

It is Jesus that makes us Christian not the Bible. And maybe that is as quiet as they can be.

It doesn't ring true in my soul. I think it's all for show, literally and figuratively.
