A software engineer met his end and found himself at the Pearly Gates. The Gatekeeper greeted him and tallied the score. "Your record is pretty good, Mr. Programmer. Your sins and your good deeds just about balance out. Tell you what - you may have your own choice of either Heaven or Hell." The engineer, weary of design tradeoffs and wary of uninformed decisions, asked for more details.

"Sure," replied the Gatekeeper. Here is the elevator. You can ride up and see Heaven and down to see Hell. Take your time and make your choice. But choose wisely, there is no turning back!" So the engineer rode the elevator up and took a look at Heaven. He saw the angels playing on their harps and the beatific look on the faces of the faithful, blissfully flitting back and forth among the clouds. "Well, that looks about like what I expected," he said to himself. "Let's go take a look at the alternative." So he rode down the elevator to the floor labelled "HELL" and looked around there. To his delight he found sandy beaches, beautiful women, snow-capped mountains in the background, and parties going on all over.

Returning to the Gates, he had no problem informing the Gatekeeper of his decision. "Heaven looks fine, but pretty boring to me. Hell is what I have always dreamed of! Let me in." The Gatekeeper handed him an entry pass and the engineer went back down the elevator to take his place in Hell. But to his surprise, the sun had gone out, the snow had melted and the parties were over. There was fire and brimstone, snakepits swarming with vipers, fiends torturing sinners, and devils tormenting babies. "Wait!" he cried as two monsters hauled him off to the chambers of eternal agony.

"What happened to the beach parties, fun and sunshine I saw before?" "Oh," replied the Devil. "That was just the demo."

Hi. I think we could all us a minute or two to clear our heads of all the religious/spiritual debates. I know I could!

Let's take this time to talk about anything that may be on our minds. It could be anything. We may even learn something new about each other.

I'm a freelance designer and I may be closing the deal on my biggest contract yet on saturday. Wish me luck!

All the universe is so perfect, magnificent and orderly it seems one could easeily lose their perfectly sound mind and say this could not all have happened by chance and ask what type energertics were used for the BIG BANG.

I have a question to ask about the Lutheran religion. If your baby is baptized Lutheran do the god parents have to be of the Lutheran religion also? I know it is with Catholics, but I am not sure with the Lutheran religion.

So Gerry was in London yesterday and a thief had it off with his wallet. Sadly his wallet contained treasured photos of Maddie. The press today are reporting the thief to be a callous person of low moral standing. Wonder if the thief lost has lost his four year old daughter after leaving her alone whilst nipping out for a quick drink and some grub at the pub.

Its hard not to notice all of the statements referring to Muslims as terrorists. Well, Muslims are not terrorists. SOME Muslims are terrorists just as there are SOME Christians, Jews, Hindus and pretty much any other kind of practitioner of faith who are terrorists. Religion does not drive people to carry out terrorism. Terrorism is usually rooted in cultural/political issues. This is especially true for Muslim terrorists. In fact Al-Qaeda has hijacked many cultural/political conflicts transforming them into their own Perverted Version of Jihad (despite what the clumsy media implies, Jihad is not holy war). Being that groups such as Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, PLO carry out terrorism as part of political agenda over a religious one, Why is Islamic Terrorism such a popular subject in the R/S section? Terrorist leaders will use Islam to justify their actions but they tell these lies because it promotes their cause.

Liberal news slant and editorial bias permeate and dominate most major news papers, broadcast networks, and PBS. So, why do they want to kill one of the only national media outlets for Conservative opinion? Do they really believe in freedom of speech and expression on the whole or only when it promotes their agenda?

I usually do two in a row, and think something must be wrong with me if I do three! However, once I did four, and I nearly wanted to call an ambulance!!

My mom, on the other hand, can be a marathon sneezer! She'll do at least 3, and you'll think she's done and she'll do 3 or 4 more, or even more!! By the time of the seventh "bless you," I'm just saying, "Now STOP that!"

So, what is YOUR record for sneezes in a row?!? And NO exaggerating just to get points!

I just read a post in which someone said that Paris Hilton is admired for being rich and sexy. I also once read the response of a Bush defender who mentioned the fact that Bush belongs to a prominent family, as if that were a virtue in itself. The only reason why Paris Hilton and George W. Bush are rich is because they were born to wealthy parents. I'm not saying that being rich is a bad thing, but I also don't think it's something to be admired if the person in question didn't actually WORK for the money. Paris Hilton and George W. Bush are merely enjoying the fruits of their ancestors' labor. Since when did being born rich become a virtue?
