I'm about to move into a house I inherited that's sixty years old. It's got nice hardwood floors throughout. Three of the rooms have had carpet over them for over forty years, and I've never even seen them uncovered, but I plan to take up the carpet. The hardwoods have been exposed throughout the rest of the house, and kept swept and dry mopped, but nothing more. I'm having some laborers give the house a little cosmetic treatment (painting, fixtures, flooring) here and there before I move in, but I'm on a tight budget. What could I do to the floors just for now short of fully refinishing them to their original lustre? I just want them very clean and not dry looking.

I heard a story several years ago about a secretive ninjutsu school in Washington State. If I remember correctly apon gradguating from this school you are considered so dangerous, that you're forced by law to serve several years in the military. I don't remember where I heard this story. Maybe it was just some movie plot that I mistoke for real. Anyway, does this ring a bell with anyone? If this isn't real, don't you think that it shoud be? Thanks.

School gets out June 18th for me and I plan to relax that day and start running June 19th. I want to learn distance running for health reasons and so I can do it when we have to at school next year. I plan on running...or I guess jogging as far as I can away from my house down the road at a steady pace, then when I can't do it anymore I will stop, turn around, and walk back to my house the same distance as I ran to cool off. I will try to increase the distance gradually and I'll drink plenty of water.

I want to be physically fit and be able to eat anything I want and get addicted to running.

Is it a bad idea to run in the summer? Do you have any tips or anything you can share with me? And my birthday is July 1st, will I see any results by then if I stick to running? How long until I get addicted? Thanks in advance :)

I will be living in the second house when I am working at my job and go to my original home for my days off.

If it is not tax deductible, is there any tax breaks for being forced to move away from my home because the economy is much worse there than the average (according to media and government reports).

It's really catchy and it was on "How I Met Your Mother' when there on the road trip in the flashback. The lyrics are something "And I would walk 500 miles and i would walk 500 more just to be at your door" or something. Artist and title plz?

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as he loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

I have been with my boyrfriend for 5 years in november, he's been divorced twice before, and sometimes i think, id like to get married, but then i think i don't want to be just another wife of his. and i don't want to go through the actual process. and the idea makes me feel sick in my stomach, not full of pleasure! he said the other day he thinks it's just a front, but i know he doesn't want to get married having been divorced twice already. does that make me weird? or do i have another issue? i can't figure it out.

I have been looking after my dad since February, after him being involved in a car accident. He is in the process of claiming disability living allowance/attendance allowance.

Although he is slowly getting back on his feet, I do most of the work around the house - cooking & cleaning for him, doing the weekly shop etc.

I understand that I may be able to claim Carers Allowance, however, will this automatically be assumed/calculated through his application for DLA, or will I have to apply for this seperately? There were sections in his application detailing who is looking after him/how much he is capable of doing himself etc.
