Set up a trot line with a weight in the center, bait the hooks with the same kind of fish that are in your pond, use steel leader hooks, the weight will keep them from swimming up for air, or you can pay someone to dredge the pond, but that wont work as well, just keep running that trot line with about #4 baitholder barb steel leader hooks, i called my grandpa on this one, he's from louisiana swamp country, they know all about this stuff, oh he said make sure the hooks are 2 feet apart and check and rebait once a day, when you stop catching them go to the next smallest sized hook for a few more days to be sure you have the population controlled, and get a few BIG catfish, they will eat any really young turtles

When I was a little girl, we had trouble with the turtles in the pond, reaching up and pulling the little ducklings underwater and killing them. We tried everything to get rid of the turtles.
The only thing that worked for us was getting a fishing net and capturing the little boogers day in and day out, for days, until the pond was clear of these creatures. Of course, our pond was not lake size, so catching them was not that difficult.
If you keep in mind that turtles lay eggs on the "beach" around the pond, keep an 'nightful' eye out for their egg laying and destroy the eggs as soon as the mother covers up the nest. In our case, the turtles finally "moved on" into someone else's territory.
You must stay vigilant. The turtles will take the opportunity to return, season to season. Keep in mind, turtles have to come to the surface to breathe...that's the best time to nab them with the net. I would not condone killing them, but taking them for a LONG car ride to another pond...
Good luck to you. It's a difficult task, but well worth the effort.
