Mom remarried and took the new last name (let's say "Smith"). Kids still have the old last name (let's say "Brown"). Usually, to invite the whole family, you'd say "The Smiths" but won't that hurt the kids? What is proper to not call too much attention but not ignore the kids' names?

I'm critiquing a short story set in a college in which every other character who teaches and has a PhD is addressed as Dr. or Professor. The poor Art guy is called "instructor." Assuming he's equally qualified in his field, what degree does he have? Is he Dr. Smith to the world and Professor Smith at the college, like his colleagues? Corollary question: If a professor tells others to call him Dr. Smith, "Dr." is abbreviated, right?

Why do Christians say that all other religions is by the Devil. And doesnt it takes one to know one so this means Christianity is by the devil and Jesus was only a magician.
and why does Christians say that other religions are fake and Jesus it the true lord. While even before Jesus and christianity was born there was Hinduism and why do christian people compare with other religion while their religion is just a book written by a bunch of humans while Hinduism was written by Gods people and god himself also wrote it in form of a human so why does christian people compare. And there are a lot of evidence like a bridge was created in Ramayana almost estimately 1million 7hundred thousand years ago by God's incarnation's army. I am having company over. I am making chicken, vegetable medley, potatoes on the barbecue and salad. Oh! and a broccoli dip. Can I cut up my salad and veggies ahead of time? The veggies include mushrooms, zuchini, peppers, onion or will it lose too much of it's nutrional value?
I like to do as little as possible when the company is here. It is more relaxing for me.

my boyfriend (kinda fionce but thats another story) has this friend which is a female and i know theyre just friends but it bothers me! a friend of mine is also her friend and she's always tellin me how it seems like sometimes the girl is hinting that she likes my boyfriend! im really nervous and i get jealous whenever shes over his house "chillin" with him and his roommates. she doesnt like me and now i think its because shes mad that im with him and shes not.. i dont want to tell him he cant have friends that would seem really messed up.. but what CAN i tell him without making myself seem really controlling?

Let's say that there is no religious belief in a god of any kind. There are social morals in place - we have all the same social problems we do now; murder, robbery, rich people, poor people, hunger, political problems, etc.
Then a group of people start writing a book saying how the universe was created. But these people are not scientists - they are farmers, shepards, smiths, etc. Then they say a invisible entity was responsible for them writing this book, that they refer to this entity as god. They add that this god is sending his own son to explain his plans. They say that the lady who had a baby in a garage is the mother of this god's son.
You see where I'm going with this, let's bring the whole onset of christianity to present day. Would you really buy into this idea if your parents weren't raising you to believe it is true? Wouldn't you be a lot more sceptical about this idea if was sprung on you at an older age?

Like from a long time ago, does it still kinda bother you now? (Meaning if you never really got to fight back). I was bullied about 17 years ago (pretty bad) and I still get mad at those people. I know it's dumb and I should get over it but sometimes I think about it only cause now I have a kid and don't want it happening to her. Just wondering about your stories!!
