I have always been raised a southern Baptist. What most of you would consider a "foot-washing" Baptist :-) As being Baptist we believe that the man should be the head of the household and a women should not over power a man. Personally, since my parents got a devorce when I was very young. My dad hasn't come around much. Therefore, I believe that a women can do just as much as a man can do. I support Hillary Clinton for president. I feel since my dad hasn't been around I can trust a woman easier. How do you feel about women preachers or women political leaders. What does the Bible say about these matters? (please list verses). But what is your opinion???

Thanks.

There's is physical proof of dinosaurs in the fossil record. Some people (mostly christian) say dinosaurs never existed. There's proof for evolution in experiments with fruit flies and species of dogs, yet these people deny the existence evolution. They focus on the semantics of science, citing that it's only a "theory", completely unaware that most everything in science is just a theory. Even gravity is only a theory, but they don't deny that. (They used to however). How about the age of the earth being a few thousand years, even though the geological record goes back for eons?

How can seemingly well-adjusted and intelligent people deny things that have such solid proof? I believe that such things as atoms, gravity and evolution are the mechanics of God's work and proof that intelligence is behind all creation.

I am a bit surprised by reading the takes on here. I am normally very impressed with the people who hang out on this Boxing section here on answers. There are generally a lot of great scenarios and opinions. I understand that nobody wanted Floyd to win. Nobody wants to see such a cocky fighter win such a big fight.

Problem is here: If anybody thought that Oscar would actually be able to catch up to Floyds speed you haven't watched enough of his past fights. Floyd is lightning fast. He fights often while backing up and his defense is often making you miss all together not blocking the punches. Oscar is a great boxer no doubt, and you couldn't ask for a nicer guy. He just doesn't have what it takes to beat Floyd. If he could get Floyd into a slugging match toe to toe then he could beat him, but he will never be able to do that.

Floyd has fought close to 40 fights and he always makes you fight his fight. That is why he is undefeated.

In a re-match Floyd wins again. Too Fast!

I've been reading a lot about the roots of liberal democracy as originating in Russeauean republican contract and state theory and as advanced by people like John Rawls...

I've read a lot by their detractors and I'm trying to figure out, out of my own curiosity, how modern usages of liberal are different from the technical, theory-based notion of the idea... and trying to figure out why republicans seem to support Russeauean republicanism but reject egalitarian justice as Rawls saw it...

or any personal opinions about these matters -- I really don't care if you've read this stuff or not, i'm just developing my own understanding however I can

Firstly can I say loud and clear I am not a person who is generally prone to extremes in anything, however I am starting to think that it is now time to return to the death Penalty for certain crimes.
Specifically those sick evil bastards that abduct, molest and murder children.
With the improvements now made in DNA evidance etc the possabilities for a innocent person to be convicted are very slim.
Why should this filth be released back into the community often only to offend again.
Don't we owe it to our children to ensure that once caught they are prevented from ever re-offending again ?
The horrors that these poor kids must go through does not bare thinking about ? Don,t these beasts deserve to be killed ?
I feel that with lots and lots of other crimes rehab is a valid option, but not for this scum, they pose to much of a danger and are, in my opinon, never really cured.
Our children are the most precious people in our world, they have the absolute right to be protected.

I've never done the walk before and now that I am it seems as if the cicadas will be coming up after 17 years. I'm not a big camper to begin with but if there are going to be millions of bugs around I'd just rather get a hotel room. I'm not familiar with where we set up tents and if it's a wooded area in Chicago that may be home to cicadas. Help!

How to determine the formula for polyatomic group such as carbonate ion?

I know that the formula for Carbonate ion is CO3, or that Sulfate ion is SO4. But how do you get there? How to know exactly that Carbon will always go with 3 Oxygens - or that Sulfate will always bond with 4 Oxygens to form sulfate ion?

Are the atomic number and the valence shell the clue to finding out the polyatomic group formula?

Thanks.

can we learn to respect each other and be honest and stop judging each other, and love our differences instead of criticizing how we each live our lives. as long as we are taking care of ourself it doens't matter.
i want to hear your thoughts on this. cause i hate when people pre-judge without knowing me.
thanks.
