I went on to a trip with my academic bowl team, and we parked our car in a public parking garage. When were done and exiting the parking complex, the cashier said she only takes cash. None of the other members had cash, so I gave the driver nine dollars. He promised me to pay me back. Then a week later, when I mentioned it to him, he said he'll pay me back, then a week later, he still said he'll pay me back.
Then today I asked him again, he said the team already have trouble getting big amounts back, so my $9 will have to wait, and I may have the chance of never getting it back. (and worst of all, a very obnoxious guy on the side said "you are screwed")
I took some law classes before, and I know if it's like a large amount, I can always sue them, but $9 is not worth it going to court. I know it's not alot, but I'm not rich, and my family needs money right now, (and I'm in school) so I need to be careful with my money and I do not dare to waste a penny.
What should I do?
