I am a first year Language Arts teacher at a small private school. I teach 6,7, and 8 grade Language Arts. It is time for me to present Greek Mythology to the students ,and I am unsure how and what to present. I would like to do something different with each grade level and I don't want to do speeches or reports, and I don't want to act anything out. Something fun, original, and informative is what I am aiming for. I've done some internet research and I have found some good websites; however, I am still unsure exactly just how to present it. Any ideas?

Magical realism is a very popular part of Latin American culture. It is used in many Latin American films and books to make the stories more interesting. Like Water for Chocolate is a film in which the main characters display this theme. It was a good film mainly because of the magical realism. Many films and books that do not have magical realism are less interesting and are not as fun to read or watch. An example of a movie that doesn’t have magical realism is Titanic. Both Like Water for Chocolate and Titanic are love stories, however they display the love theme in very different ways.
In Like Water for Chocolate is a very sad love story, but because of magical realism, the movie is just as emotional but not as sad and depressing as a normal movie would be. I JUST read the bible for the first time yesterday because I was raised an athiest, so excuse me if I sound dumb here. So, when God created heaven, did he make angels along with it? Because by the time he made Adam and Eve, the devil was already there, a fallen angel. But angels are people who die and go to heaven, right? Who got to be an angel by default? .....the constitutional seperation of church and state? It seems to me that christians in America want to get rid of democracy and replace it with a theocracy. They would probably crap their pants if someone took a Koran into a school let alone taught a class about it. Christianity sucks and is ruining America.
