Death leads to sadness, but sometimes happiness?

Death leads to sadness for those left behind. They miss their loved one terribly and often feel guilty over not having done or having done something that made the person unhappy when they were alive. So sadness and guilt remains.

Death never brings happiness but in the case of people who are suffering tremendous physical pain due to terminal illness, I'm sure it brings a precious relief.

For people who believe in a life hereafter, death holds no fear because we know what will be. But at the same time, a believer in God loves life and takes joy in every moment of it, even those things that we don't always feel good about. We all experience pain but pain does not last forever even though we sometimes think it will. This is true especially when we are young. Everything seems to be forever...but I can assure you it is not.

God promises sunshine after rain....in this life. Remember the rainbow...that is a symbol of the great beauty that comes after sorrow or pain.

I would say, to me you definately sound like a pesimist rather than an optimist and that is why you think the way you do. I would consider Happiness as a feeling rather than a mental illness... but thinking the way you obviously do i see how you would consider it to be what you consider it. My advise to you would be maybe try and make some friends or get involved in a hobby etc: I know what you mean when you say as soon as we are born we are dying and thats true only for the simple fact that we all know we are going to die some day , that is just life. But while your here and you are alive why not just enjoy it ? I think you need positive people in your life and maybe thats why you think this way... Stop thinking soo much and live for gods sake, it might give you a few more years hahaha. It worries me that our children have to share this world with people like you in it... Dont worry, be happy :-) Shelly

We were not created to die, but because of the actions of Adam and Eve, it is what we have inherit.

Jehovah created the first human couple perfect, with the prospect of living forever.

This was if they had obeyed.

ROM. 5:12,17,19: "Through one man (Adam) sin entered in to the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned-....By the trespass of the one man death ruled as king...Through disobedience of the one man many were constituted sinners."

1Cor. 15:22: "In Adam all are dying

Although we may loose a loved one in death, the Bible gives us hope for life.

acts 24:15 "I have hope toward God, which hope these men themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."

John 11: 25,26: "Jesus said to her [the sister of a man whom he thereafter restored to life]: 'I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life; and everyone that is living and exercise faith in me will never die at all. Do you believe this?'"

Again, depends on what you believe and who you put your faith and trust in.

As a believer in Christ Jesus, I believe you feel both.

My brother passed away awhile ago (he was a believer) and of course I was very sad and devastated but since I knew he was in the presence of God I was so happy for him because he was finally rid of that disease-ridden body. He is free now and walking all over God's heaven.

People said it was the best funeral they ever attended.

it depends if you have accepted Jesus as your savior. then death will mean eternal happiness, with out him it means eternal sadness and worse.
