Yes, there is.
Area 51 (officially known as Air Force Flight Test Center, Detachment 3 and also known as Dreamland, Watertown Strip, Paradise Ranch, The Box, Groom Lake, Neverland, and other names) is a remote tract of land in the southwestern portion of Lincoln County in southern Nevada, located at 37.239° N 115.816° W, at the southern edge of a large dry salt flat called Groom Lake. It lies within the Nevada Test and Training Range and is owned by the United States Department of Defense and the United States Air Force. Area 51 contains an airfield whose primary purpose is believed to be the operation and analysis of enemy aircraft and weapons systems, and secret development and testing of new military aircraft. Area 51 is the frequent subject of UFO conspiracy theories.

Area 51 is an ultra-secret military test facility base. We can only speculate what they do there. No one apart from US agents are allowed in. The restricted area is more than a third of the whole Military Operating Area (MOA), and as a total, the Nellis Range equals 8,000,000 acres of airspace(12,500 square miles), larger than both the state of Maryland (at 10,577 sq. mi.) and the country of Belgium (at 11,780 sq. mi.). Now that's a big place! The base is located in Groomlake.
Why would they spend so much money and so much time on building this huge place? And why do they keep it so secure?
The Areas agents, in unmarked land rovers, useful for the rough terrain when following trespassers. They are armed with M-16 Assault rifles. They are assigned to shoot anyone that crosses the border... The security guards patrol around the perimeter of the restricted area. Security is very tight!
Groom Lake has, among other aircraft, a HH-60 Pave Hawk that is seen occasionally patrolling the boundary. No one without ID gets in, or out! If they spot you in the area, they will give you one warning, then mow you down! There is something there, you know it, why not? Is it really just full of secret planes, or are there some other things, strange things? We will never know unless someone manages to get in, and that is impossible, not even an army of a thousand men could make it in the Area 51 alive. As you may know Area51 has the longest runway in the world, yet they say "it does not exist". Although I would like to think that Area51 is related to Aliens (it could well be) but my belief has changed and I think America wants to cover up their advanced technology that is way above our thinking.
Since its construction in 1954, Area 51 was home of the U-2 Spy plane and many other planes such as the B-2 Stealth bomber, F-117A Nighthawk and the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. The intense security surrounding both Area 51 and its neighboring site, S-4 (where Bob Lazar was apparently working before he let out the 'truth'), has aroused the suspicions of UFO researchers, who believe that captured extraterrestrial technology is being tested there.

of course, but it is not officially called that, so if you ever see an "official" paper that says area 51, it is fake.
area 51 was an old geological designation for the area of the neveda testing grounds that contains the groom lake testing area. the US geological no longer uses the old number system but poeple still refer it as that.
the test center is real, and they do testing for top secret and black budget projects. the place employs hundreds of top engineers and scientist.
a lot of the things are coold, the stealth program was developed thier along with probably a few other things.
a lot of the things developed are never fully put in production, but ideas and pieces of them are often back fitted or installed on new weapon systems.

LoL, yeah it's a military base the government won't deny it...they test aircraft there...the people who work there fly from the Las Vegas Airport in unmarked planes. And it's under high security watch. There are fences and motion detectors about a mile from the buildings on the base

I live next door to it and driven all around it-- so unless I have been dreaming (which I admit is possible), it certainly is there.
You can see some weird airplanes when you drive on Highway 50 through Nevada.
