I JUST read the bible for the first time yesterday because I was raised an athiest, so excuse me if I sound dumb here. So, when God created heaven, did he make angels along with it? Because by the time he made Adam and Eve, the devil was already there, a fallen angel. But angels are people who die and go to heaven, right? Who got to be an angel by default? Sincere, helpful answers only please.

Ok... thanks for the answers everyone! (feel free to still answer) I always got the impression that people turned into angels, from the media I guess... so then ucifer became satan? And can anyone also tell me, who are the angels that God created? And is he still creating new ones or has he stopped creating things?

Angels aren't people who have died, they are being that were already in existance.

Angels were created by God before He created heaven and earth, and Adam & Eve. Some angels, Lucifer notably, sinned against God and were relegated to an earthbound existence. When a person dies, that person does NOT become an angel, even if he goes to heaven. We take on a glorified body. This is not the same as becoming an angel. There are books called concordances which contain all the locations in the Bible which talk about angels (and anything else). I recommend that you buy a concordance and go to a good Bible teaching church where you can learn a ton of things.

Angels were created during the six days of creation, it is not clear when because it is not until the sixth day that it is written as being "complete". It's quite possible differently heavenly beings were created on different days like that of the world. This is often suggested because the Creation of the World and Heaven are often thought to be reflective in glory.
I won't waste my time explaining, but the devil did not fall into sin until after the Creation but before the fall of man, a span of more than a possible century sometime between the first and probably 100th year of the world.
This due to the fact that Adam was 130 years old when he begat Seth which may have occurred only briefly after Cain killing Abel. Which would have put the birth of Cain around Adam's 100-110th year of life which would have occurred shortly after the fall of Adam and Eve.

God did create angels, yes. When exactly--I don't know, but certainly Lucifer, the fallen angel, was in the garden of Eden. When people die they do not become angels. They become whole again, body, spirit and soul-just like here on earth. But in heaven, they are perfect-no sin, disease, etc. (Glorified as Jesus was.) We will be like God originally planned: the way Adam and Eve were before they sinned.
Lucifer, aka satan, was a beautiful angel loved by God. But he rebelled against God by desiring to take God's place. God cast him out of heaven and one third of the angels chose to follow satan. Satan now roams the earth freely, deceiving many people as he did the third of the angels. He doesn't have total freedom to do whatever he wants though-he is held in check by God.
I believe the only two angels that are mentioned by name in the Bible are Michael and Gabriel. Angels exist in the spirit realm. (If we could see into the spirit realm, we would see them all around us.) They were created to carry out God's commands; they have many purposes, including helping to protect mankind and as God's messengers. They will also play a very important role during the Tribulation period. I don't know of any Scriptures that would support a theory that God creates new ones. I don't believe that He does. There are MANY Scriptures that deal with angels.

There are many theories about this. each denomination have thier little quirks
You aren't dumb by no stretch of the imagination either. OS don't put yourself down.
Just a tip if you want God's wisdom & understanding ask for that as you read.
From my own reading, & understanding, angels where made before everything else, God made other worlds & beings as well, before our world was created. Nobody gets to be an angel as they are already designated and designed by God,
Lucifer fell because he decided he wanted the top job, and he convinced 1/3 of the heavenly beings (not just angels but others as well) So it came back to show others Gods mercy & grace Lucifer & his followers were granted life & banished to our planet as a showcase for others and maybe to show that the newest members might not be taken in by lies & deciet, but they were, so you now have the reason we are in the situation we are.Unfortunately i can't remeber the exact places in the bible to back up my beliefs/understandings.
Hope this helps in some way.

In Exodus 20, God said He made everything in 6 days, and this would probably include the angels which are also part of His creation. The Bible does not state that the devil has already rebelled by the Sixth day. But it probably happened not too long after that. Angels are not dead people, they are simply another created order of beings.

Angels are not people who go to heaven.Sorry. We do not know when they were formed as they were there as you said when Adam and Eve were. The battle of the angels happen before the Earth and Gods favorite Angel wanted to rule too so he was banished to hell and he took 10,000 angels with him.He is what we call Satan or the devil. We,as humans have souls.Angels do not have souls.Always been there and always will. This can be very hard to understand. There are three kinds of angels. Please talk to a clergy person or someone who has studied the Bible and he or she can explain this to you far much better than I. Bless you and may your road be easy traveling through this journey of learning.God be with you always

The angels were already in existence when the world was created.
No angels are created beings NOT former humans.
Satan was not a fallen angel until Adam and Eve when he tempted Eve God cast him out.
My advice to you, read the new test first. Start with Matthew..

Angels arent people who have died and gone to heaven. God created angels completely separate from man. People can never become angels. So yes, angels were created before man and the devil rebelled and so did 1/3 of all the other angels.

In the beginning God created Heaven and The earth but when God created mankind angles were already here, in Isa 14:12-15 we read satan has/had a "i" problem and now lets talk about The Second member of The Godhead Jesus Christ, in The Book of John chapter one we read Jesus was the active agent who was the one created this world, in John 8:58 we are told Jesus is The I AM which if you have a cross reference bible with the little r in the bible telling you that word is somewhere else in the bible that I AM takes you back to Exodus 3 and the burning bush, Moses, satan was/is jealous of Jesus and wanted His spot as God, lucifer was His name, you can learn about the whole subject in a series of FREE bible lessons www.amazingfacts.org OR www.itiswritten.com talk to me also wgr88@yahoo.com God bless

No. People and angels are nowhere near similar. People who die and go to heaven do not become angels-thats Hollywood. Angels are created beings that live for eternity-they do not die. There are Cherubims and Seraphims. They are extremely different.
We do not know when Satan rebelled and fell. It was after Adam and Eve were created, but before Cain killed Abel. It was before Adam was 130 years old.
