The "war" was WON from the moment that Saddam was defeated. The people did not fight the US to maintain that form of government, aside from some (not all) of Saddam's "army".
Next, we "helped" the country form a "democracy" and hold elections. A "president" was elected by the people of Iraq. Some factions don't want him to be president because he doesn't represent their form of their religious/political ideology. They are trying to displace him and his "government". This is a civil war! Iraqi against Iraqi!
So, who are WE fighting? Whoever decides to car bomb US!!! Could be either side, right? We get caught in the cross-fire! How can this be called a "war", with the some of our citizens demanding a "victory"??? Victory over who??
The only solution is to reach some sort of diplomatic compromise! We can't kill everyone who might use violent means to "disagree" with the present Iraqi administration; we must convince them that violence is not the way!!
