The UK has committerd itself to a 60% carbon emissions reduction for the future. From an 'Expert' on TV we learn that should we not be able (Or are reluctant) to achieve that figure, governments have an agreement that they can buy up to 50% of green credits from under-users. That leaves us with 10% to aim for. Industry accounts for 34% of the 10% and must make an effort, likewise transport and supermarkets who account for the majority of the remaining percentage of the 10%, leaving the public to do nothing but carry on as normal.

On a brief scan of the first 100,000 digits, the longest string I could find as a string of 5 one's, which occurred about a third of the way down (nestled in this string of digits … 24658411111577583…). Does anyone know of a longer string somewhere in the first trillion, or so, digits? Is there any mathematical reason why strings of, say, hundreds or thousands couldn't occur somewhere in all of Pi?

I used the "find on this page" function on a web page to confirm that there are no strings longer that five in the first 100,000.

I now know that my freeloading nephew will continue to take advantage of my family's hospitality. If you missed my previous question, he's 22, jobless, has no desire to get a real job, has "plans" on going to school full time, is eating us out of house and home, sleeps all day and doesn't contribute to any of the household chores.
