I now know that my freeloading nephew will continue to take advantage of my family's hospitality. If you missed my previous question, he's 22, jobless, has no desire to get a real job, has "plans" on going to school full time, is eating us out of house and home, sleeps all day and doesn't contribute to any of the household chores. We had no idea that it would be this way when he moved here.

My husband, myself, and our four kids are in desperate need of help. Money is extremely tight and the nephew is making it much worse. How much should I ask my nephew to pay?

Considering he is using your utilities and eating your food without contribituting I would charge him a 75 a week which is not bad considering he is using your utilities eating your food. He will either pay or get out either way it will lessen the burden.

$400/month, depending on where you live. Also he should pay his part of the utilities and groceries. Make up a lease. Let him know he has X amount of days to sign the lease and comply or get out.

If he doesn't agree, kick him out. That's the only way it can work sometimes.

I would say at least $75 a week to cover his grocery's, maybe even $100 maybe it will motivate him to get a job and a place of his own
