i have a prepaid sidekick3 and want to get a blackberry pearl and just put the sim card from the sidekick into the pearl
and possibly have the data services turned on(internet/email)

is this possible?

you have to make clear that whether your blackberry pearl is a GSM phone or a CDMA phone. If it is GSM one, it can work with any sim card (from T-mobile, Cingular plan and so on), as well as prepaid ones. Yes, this should work if both phones are from the same cellular phone company, like Verizon. Just slip the sim card into the new phone and you can pay prepaid just as you were before you switched phones.

Check with your service provider and check with some others too. Verizon used to have a service where you bought so many minutes and could renew them as needed like a pre-paid card. I don't know if they still have it or if it would work the way you need. Long term, I think it's cheaper to get a plan.

yes, i believe so. if you think about it, it's just about the manner of payment anyway. (like what type of sim card you have)
