Is it a coincidence? For example, they were both said to have been born of a virgin and had twelve disciples.

1.) The feet of a standing person of mass m exert a force equal to mg on the floor; and the floor exerts an equal and opposite force upwards on the feet, which we call the normal force. During the extension phase of a vertical jump, the feet exert a force on the floor that is greater than mg, so the normal force is greater than mg. We can use this result and Newton's second law to calculate the acceleration of the jumper: a=Fnet/m=(n-mg)/m. Using energy ideas, we know that work is performed on the jumper to give him or her kinetic energy. But the normal force can't perform any work here, because the feet don't undergo any displacement. How is energy transferred to the jumper?

2.) In most circumstances, the normal force acting on an object and the force of static friction do no work on the object. However, the reason that the work is zero is different for the two cases. In each case, explain why the work done by the force is zero.

Can I please get detailed responses for these? Thanks!

Okay, I have a shootout idea...

If the game remains tied after 10 minutes of sudden death overtime, then go to a shootout. However, the game is counted in the points as if was a tie- 1-1 split. However, there is still a shootout, but it is used as a tiebreaker in the standings. simply measure shootouts as a percentage of the ones you win, and use that to break standings ties, but don't count it as a point.

why do we hear this from our parents when we are young kids, yet when we are adults, we sue for libel and slander and other reasons? Is it a true statement? Can a name hurt someone? There is the old addage, "nobody can make you feel inferior without your concent." Is this also true? What about racial slurs, or homophobic slurs, or anything like that? Can we also said "sticks and stones..." or "nobody can make you feel inferior..." related to those matters?

Odd question indeed! At 75, when I look back I see some plus factors in life like good family bond, rare happy situations and Lord's gifts of a good home - loving family relations. Tied to this I experienced pain, rejection, dejection, exploitation, social stigmas resultant to rebellious thoughts and all possible religious extortions besides unreasonable faith commands. I believe that my outlook on life is negative, but realistic. I didn't choose this life; but was delivered into it to suffer the agony, mystery and pain associated with it. My ultimate relief is that I am much better off, when I compare myself to His first born - the Universe where most planets are molested and the rest is on target. When even Moon is not safe from mankind why should I complain about my fate? I wish I might be spared from a second torture through rebirth. Do you like to be born again and start afresh another life without knowing your present life? lileeann

Well a few weeks ago her son (9 years old) started hiding to play his gameboy adv., & he would turn on his radio so that no one would hear the game going. She had specifically told him no games that day, the week that Her hubby was gone she had asked him to get a couple of things done before bed, she goes in his room & he is hiding & playing the gameboy, so she started taking things out of his room toys, books, games, & she started to find snacks and candy and medicine that he was getting in the night while everyone else was asleep. Well he was on major grounding and required to sit on his bed at all times if he wasn’t doing chores or homework, & he decided to get up and steel some of his sis (7 year old) candy bars and eat them. Last night we heard talking at the dinner table and asked who it was and the brother & sis both said it was the other, Sis eventually fessed up. But he held firm it wasn’t him, but from what he was saying happened he would have had to be talking,

In the future, you got into a time-machine and went back to your childhood. When you get there, you save a man's life, however, you and your parents walk around the corner and both your parents are shot dead. Then the kid you is sent to the orphanage and you feel sorry for "yourself" and decide to raise your child but never tell them who you really are. Do you think you would like being your own parent but not knowing it, and how would life be different?

Should I do it now, while the tree is still dormant, or wait until later this spring after it flowers, or in the summer or fall? This branch would be about one fifth of the tree. It is growing toward our house, and encroaching upon a smaller dogwood. I want to remove the branch to make sure the dogwood has room to grow.

You might want to re-think your decision about going to Manhattan College. My brother is currently enrolled there as a freshman and has regretted every day. The school is really not that convenient to Manhattan and most of the kids that go there are commuting students or from the Long-Island area (not great for out of state kids, but could be up your ally). The food there is awful and the dorms leave something to be desired (although all freshmen dorms in any college are not that great). Probably the worst part about Manhattan College though is the unresponsive guidance counselors and the RA's who make life more of a living hell than anything else. Most RA's at the school are intensely political and show favoritism towards their residents, to the point of picking on certain residents for infractions that were never actually conducted.

If he could do it all over again my brother would have gone to NYU, and I can see why after visiting Manhattan College myself.
